Me squirrel likes apple. Put some down today. He sniffed it then took nuts away one by one. Then took the apple after picking it up and sniffing again. Then came back to check for nuts a bit quicker than eye fort he would. Not sure if he eated the apple. Tos not in my garden.

That's remarkably quick. Sounded like it would be a number of weeks from what you said earlier.
Yes, had the supervisor out Friday afternoon to look at what the subbies were doing. I insisted that I would not wait any longer for the job to be done seein as it's already been over six months since they came and took the radiator off ready to start the job. I played on being old and needing the rad back as the house is cold, Anyway, supervisor was dismayed and promised to get the job finished asap. Not holding my breath

Sounds like a favourable result.

Now I'm getting on a bit I'll have to start playing the little old man role more often too. I've held off because I'm a bit too vain to present myself as an invalid, but maybe it's time to swallow my pride.

I'm same, being vain and pretending to myself and others that I'm still in my fifties, feeling the cold these days and get tired easily but can still lift a bag of cement and shift things younger folk shy away from, think I'm the only bloke for miles around that doesn't have a bad back :D
Plasterers not showed up yet 🤔

..that the LATHE has landed. :D
Snowing here! :(
Now I need to work out how to get it working. :)

3 very nice gentlemen have just delivered the lathe I bought on e-Bay. :D
It is a little Boxford AUD (Serial Number 12161 and it appears (to my eyes anyway)to be in pretty good nick.
The ways are sound and unmarked, the slides are all silky-smooth and with no discernable backlash.
It came with:
An engineers surface plate- goodness that's heavy.
A full set of cutting tools (mostly unused).
A set of 24 collets and two collet arbors, but no drawbar.
A set of 4 tool posts and tool-holders of different style/flavours.
A micrometer carriage stop.
A standard carriage stop.
The backplate on there has an index (72 position) and an index pin mounted on the headstock. Don't think that was standard?
There is a backplate for clamping items to as well, and a drive dog.

@fizzy on the mig forum gave me some good advice on how to move it, but in the end the seller popped up and said "my mates in the moving business" and for £150 they brought it here and I didn't need to lift a finger. :D

I will give it a clean and lube and sort out a VFD (3-phase). Really pleased I am.

UPDATE:
I just took another look at it, and....
In the centre section of the cabinet I found:
A Pratt-Burnerd 4-Jaw Chuck
A fixed Steady.
A travelling steady.
The draw bar for the collet set. :D
Stone me, I think the 2 chucks are worth as much as I paid for the whole shebang. PMSL

From wot eye remember from the pic's it dun't look like much wuk for a plasterer. Not many big area's. Lots of edges wiv door frames and walls. A plasterer could have that done in 2 days easily if they had a van full of bits from wix.
