Indeed butted and brazed steel frames can be very pretty (though 531 can also be welded).

Original Choppers were mostly brazed, the new ones are all welded I think.
So, if the frame in the teevee show was an early model, brazing would have been appropriate. You'd need to be careful welding near a brazed joint, welding temps can exceed the melting point of brass.

Course the arrival of carbon fibre, loonium and other exotics caused Reynolds some troubles, but they're still around. Steel frames are 'steel' (ahem) the choice of the connoisseur..

When I was younger I done a lot of cycling, my choice of weapon were the Flying Scot's build in Glasgow by David Rattray
using 531, my bikes ran as smooth as silk probably worth a small fortune now. I had 3 of them but ex misses & her new
boy friend sold em.

Prolly cos the deals with the clubcard were too good to be true!

I have a Tamiya Hilux somewhere that I made when I was 18, same chassis as the Wild Willy etc. They int getting their sticky mitts on that.
If this is successful I'll spend a bit more on a Traxxis or similar.
I can at least hang a tail on it an give the pup some exercise

Feeling tiered now, went oot to fit the wall plates on the gable end...first side cool no probs then the other side was 60mm out
ran the 6x2 up the gable & it over shot the other side

Brickys measurements were off by 60mm down to zero at the lower
edge so had to cut the block work. Me an the mate wiv the stihl saw......I had the handle pulling the trigger he held it up in line so we could cut the blocks, working off two scaffold boards doubled up holding it above our heads

Helff n safetee dont work on Sundays

Job Jobbed one side on oooofff it was hard work.

Yer it was my mates whole garage done in a 8 days lol not complaining plus it was just over 2k for the two of them.
My other mate paid 5k for a straight wall 3ft high & 8m long.

Dredd to think what it would have cost to
pay the going rate for this.

My Dad had it stove enamelled & we fitted all new transfers, the lower seat transfer got damaged as we fitted it & I can still make out the damage.
