My front door latch parts have to be greased with spray "white Lithium" grease. But the lock itself is NOt to be greased, only a light graphite application (using the key itself).
I suspect I was, as usual, not using the correct terminology.
I meant any bits of locks, latches etc that could be touched by clothing or a person.
I would never lubricate the inside of a lock with anything except something very thin or as you say graphite.

Evening all, was oot the door at 5am this morning as one of the misses family member is I'll, so drove 60 miles as they were on a
waiting time of 8-11 hours for an ambulance. Got there not great tbh another 999 call ambulance there in 25 mins.
Got home at 5pm ish, Crashed out on the couch for a wee while. Now........Me + rum lol

.... Ring-Ring.
Dad! MY patio door has broken and it is stuck halfway open and I can't get it closed or fully open.
My initial thought was "And your telling me because?".
After a bit more grovelling and whining from him I agreed to go look at the problem.

We took the sliding pane out and yup! Both runners were shot with one of them missing all of its ball-bearings.
Now this has NOT happened in an instant, we replaced both runners this Spring with new ones.
But clearly it is a problem he has been ignoring for some time.

He has NEW doors coming on Monday, but how to close the hole in the wall so the dogs can be let in and out still?
I measured the size of the hole and nipped back home.
Two overlapped 48 x 32 inch 12mm plywood offcuts from my shed and some screws and battens and a temporary lightweight sliding door was made in-situ. It is crude and it works to keep the wind & rain out.
