It's the trees in these modern times they just don't grow straight enough, probably something to do with climate change, you'll have to wait for Greta to fix it, then all the trees will straighten up, wood won't warp and you can drive your carbon free (as long as you ignore the impact of its production) electric car to go and get some
Eye fink most timber these days is soft wood. Grown fast so bends easily as it dries. Trick is to buy it straight and use it quick.

Boiler change business case.
Current boiler efficiency 74%. New Condensing boiler efficiency 94%, Fuel cost saving c.20% on current bill.
Current GAS cost per day (averaged of the whole year) is £4.74, so the savings will be 20% of this 365 x 4.74 x.2 = £346 PA.
New boiler cost to supply and install £2,500 payback period on savings = 7.2 years just to pay for the changeout.
New "high-efficiency boiler " expected lifespan 10 years. So only 3 year of 346 PA savings = £1,000 benefit over 10 years.
Then get back on the merry go round of paying for another new boiler.
I'm not sure that sticking with my 30 year old boiler isn't still the best option TBH. I expect to be dead in 10..15 years time. :D
Yer can get 15 years oot a new combi. Loads of deals like service it wiv British gas and they warranty the parts for and additional year each time. Would be interesting to know if a 30 year old boiler kept its efficiency. I remember when we were all putting up our gas bills and yours were high compared to mine. Gas heating only 60 sovs er month.

That surely depends more on the respective sizes of our dwellings and their rates of heat loss does it not?
Gas consumption here is 46.22Kw daily on average. That includes use of the gas hob for cooking. £4.74/day.
4 bed 1930's gaff with 8 foot ceilings. As insulated as I can make it. :)

At sea its easier to get permission to build. The wind is greater and average amount more stable so they can generate more often and for longerer periods. That produces a greater value of lectric.
It does, that is true.
Good thing here which explains the advantages and disadvantages.
