I once went to Egypt on some tour to the driest place on earth, you know when your in these places yer dont have
a solid poo for at least a week 🤣 Anyhoo I was needing to go & there was a queue for the bog the door was
(basically a magic carpet hanging up with a pole hammered into the rock)
Sitting outside was chap giving out loo roll with a swarm of flys all over him :stars:
aye 1 sheet per person :oops: errr mate wtf do with that I put my finger through the sheet and
scrape my ass with my finger n then use the sheet to clean my finger 🤣 Oh how he laughed lol
into the bog n it was a hole in the ground with at least 50m drop. 🕳️ :eek:
Plus they charge you for wan sheet its not plenty I'll tell ye that. 🤣
 
One task I always have to do is to ensure at least minimal i.e. frost protect, heating goes on in some parts of our place over winter. So I have fancy doofers on the main house board that switch powere to the heating stats in 3 areas every night when electric switches over to "cheap".
But then it has to go through a fancy room stat with all sorts of settings on. Some of these went fubar fairly recently so I bought two very expensive newer versions, but up to now I have managed by swopping still working ones over from the rooms we don't need them in.
Tonight I discovered that the one covering the dowenstairs bathroom has gone on the blink LITERALLY so I thought, no probs, swop it fot the one in a guest bedroom.
Nope that one is fubar too. OK next guest bedroom.
Same flipping problem!
So I dig around in my stores and pull out the second more modern one I was keeping in reserve and fit that one. Far more complex, digital display etc and all it really needs to be is a room stat.
Jeez I hate modern electrical over complication.
All the blessed thing has to do is measure the temp in the room and switch the heating on until it reaches the set temp then switch it off again. Rinse and repeat.
Could have done better things with my time! :mad: :mad: :mad:

Evening all, busy wee day for me. I had to retrieve a floating caravan from the shipping lane as it had dragged its mooring.
First job was to secure a rope n float onto the mooring as I was coming back to recover it, I was only in a wee rib boat so
didnt want to secure it onto that or it might drag it under. :eek: Tow the yacht in & then go back & get the work boat.
The winch packed up so had to use the crane to pull it so far up then tie it off then use the crane to pull it up (ground hog day) lol
It was howling wind blew my hat off into the drink but got it back. :):) Dont know who owns it im assuming they will come
looking for it or ive got a new boat. 🤣

Well I was properly prepped, I did have a spare, I just didn't want to use it! Me being Mr Tight Bottom 2023!!

This is a prima facie case of what the frogs call "Vice cachée".
How many peeps would put up with buying a new house with underfloor electric heating when only a few years down the line you can only put it on in a few rooms? Fing is, we hardly ever use it. Otherwise I might have got very stroppy with the manufacturers.
Delta Dore, if you have ever heard of them.
We have 10 places with them in the house, now 6 of them don't work. Or didn't until I swopped two of them out. That is a pretty poop statistic. :(
