We already have bsi and ce standards. Relied on thems fer years. Why would we want to water thems down. Eye dun't want lead in me paint or teddy bear. All because of fake news on straight narna's and political in fighting.
Divergence doesn't automatically mean watering down 👍 well, politically it might in order to make a point

You obviously haven't experienced living in a modern motorhome - very high tech, comfortable living!
Eye fort yer'd reply. They is a lot of sovs to buy. Yer only get value back when used. If not often enuff then they can be eggspensive. Same assa caravan shed. When yer add up cost of running like insurance, tax n upkeep then yer whacking a 1,000 sovs at it per year. If yer can't park it oft road to keep it safe it can cost a lorra sovs to fix a minor crash into it. Eye has family who fort ere would buy a caravan shed. Wuk pay for my ollydays so eye dun't haft to. But they choose the destination int uk.

Road tax is low, insurance is very low and mine - new last year - has a 'used' value now more than I paid for it - several ££££'s more than I paid for it! AND I have had many weeks use out of it already over the last 14 months.

Yes, I am fortunate that I can keep it at home on my multi-acre estate ().

The only downside I can see is that it is far too handy for people to think about coming and staying for a free holiday!!!!!!:eek::eek:

A big plus is that I can take my two loyal pals with me everywhere I go and because we are always close to nature we experience lots of things lost for 'brick' dwellers and hotel holiday makers. There is nothing better than being king (or in your case a mere Lord) over your very own demesne!

Something you do not experience is that I can choose where I go in my MH nobody can dictate that to me.

Crashes can happen to anyone, anywhere, even a traveller going by car to their chosen hotel but don't confuse a MH with a caravan when it comes to repairs.

Have I given you any food for thought? :):):)

Nope. Ma hippo is about 500 sovs to insure. Can't remember his last yealy payment. So insurance wouldn't be cheap for me. Eye can see the option of being able to wonder being an advantage. But repair costs are high. The big panels ain't cheap. Hence why caravan sheds are easily written oft. Eye wiuldn't get use from one but eye once wukked wiv someone who took their caravan shed away for about 30 weekends a year. And a few full weeks. They were mad ferrit. So they gottid value back. Lot of peeps on youtube converting vans for wild camping. Seems to be the rage.

Save yer money and use cheap o'tels. Yer gerra propper wash and a bed. They cook for yer anorl. Tis a waste to save up all them years only to go on ollyday un camp on the floor in a shed or oft the floor in a shed on wheels. All thems years living wiv creature comfort un yer go onner povity ollyday suffering.
Yeah but hotels really don't like pets and the dog don't want to stay by herself :D

But they are better for the environment right?
On average yes. More efficient use of fuel. There will always be some set on fire. Same as liquid burner vehicles. Lectric bikes could be a way of reducing our transport emissions. When yer sat in traffic watch the cars coming the other way. Vast majority are driver only wiv no passenger. All that additional fuel to shift a big vehicle. Compare that to an ebike.

My 2023 coachbuilt MH on a Merc auto is just £235 for fully comp ins. this year - I don't know about last year 'cos that came in the initial price - its insured value is £86,000 - this compares with my 2012 LR Disco 4 with a value of just £16,000 for which they wanted £980 !!! Needless to say I declined this offer but still have to pay in the region of £650 - no claims, no legal issues, full licence held for 58 years! I am assured it is not age descrimination but because I am the only driver on the car policy. Perhaps someone should think of setting up an agency for spare drivers to be named on single persons' policies! :)

These people who sell up their 'bricks and mortar to become full time van dwellers seem to have the right idea!

Dun't ferget the d4 is high risk of being stolen. Same as rrs and rr. Thats why insurance will be higher ferrit.

Not wi' me in it!! And If I do leave it to go into the shop I always have two very capable guards left inside - it would be a very courageous thief who got into their mobile kennel! They have full freedom to attack!!! And I always tell them when I leave to 'biteey burger bums'.
And don't forget I live very rurally - there has only been one crime in the 23 years I have lived 'ere - somone who got fed up walkin' up the hills after a night on the pop so nicked an old banger which a farmer always left unlocked at the front of his field.

Just a staging post so I can transfer pic from phone to computer... dont ask 😏
