I have applied for a passport today. Mine ran out two years ago!! It's all on line now too
It's not required for a renewal apparently. Only required on a new passport. This online thingy is fairly new I think.......
If you go to Snappy Snaps, they run it through their software and it checks if it meets the standard. Expensive at £10 but at least you know it will be accepted.
