Even back in 1979 it was illegal to run out of fuel on an autoroute in France.....You may or may not know, some new road rules on the way...

Twas pretty tragic. Guy who had only passed his test 2 weeks before on a fairly dangerous road on the side of a steep valley 5 up in an Austin A40 Farina. Lost it on a bend. The car hit a tree backwards 20 feet up it. Three girsl in the back, two died and one paralysed.rools lick only

My Dad, my bro and me used to use that road every school day and we always said that it would take a tragic crash for them to put a proper Armco on that bend.

This is exactly what happened after this accident.
