Just cover the top of the log pile let the air in on the sides the damp cannot get out and comes up from the ground and condensates on the logs greenhouse effect
I think this must be it. I have started only covering the top as I have noticed that the permanent ones are made from a wooden frame and a bit of corrugated iron over it. Funny thing is it's been OK for ages. But I do also move logs into the house well before burning them (and under cover outside) to give them still more of a chance to dry out.
I must allow my eyes to communicate more with my brain!!;)

'Cos when she has finished that she will go about searching for a nice new one - or even two or three etc. .
Yes, I have heard this said.
Maybe it is just that our dogs have all been either King Charlies or Cockers, who are all very biddable. And soft mouthed.
But they have never dreamed of taking new, or even still used, shoes and chewed them. They won't even take "their" chews from places we have put them if we tell them not to. (We only do this if they are making a noise or a mess with them, we don't deprive them of them for ever!)
But it also has to be said that W spoils them with toys. The house looks like a branch of Tinytots with them all over the place, until we tidy them all up again.

Shouldnt give them old shoes as it teaches them its ok to chew them next thing ye know yer fancy
snake skin shoes have been munched. o_O:D
See above!
We also take a pair of old socks, put one inside it in a ball then tie the open end up over it and give it to them to play with and chew, and they have never gone for any of our socks either.
We train our dogs that there are places they can go and things they can do, but places they cannot go, without permission or even ever, and things they cannot touch which basically means stuff on the floor that can't be moved and anything in an open cabinet or cupboard or shelf, or over about 1 foot off the ground.
TBH we don't have to train them like this, we bring a new puppy in and it learns from the others, we just have to occasionally correct them.
Sounds like we are a bit weird!
But we don't get our stuff damaged or hidden.

I wouldn't do that. Wood worm n other wood scoffing critters might get out and look for more wood to eat - inside yer house.
Yet again something we have been doing for ages and keep a sharp eye out for.
No problems as yet.
There are often wood worm holes in the wood but we have yet to find a live un.
We think they come out in the place the woodseller stores and matures them for sale.
No idea why though.

Suns oot here.
Tapsoff weather and having to wear a cap to stop in burning my bald bonce, as I drive the machine over the weeds.

And the miracle, cos I kmow you are all agog with indifference, the second part of said thingy to hold the dog guard in was found, in a place in the car that i hadn't looked in, a corner tucked away behind the right hand second row seat, only visible when I pulled it forward. So that bit just fell down from where it had been.

The other we think must have landed in my work trews turn up.
Anyway, all good now!

Hope you all have a good day!!
:):):):)

My 90 still works though, bonus:D.
