It makes perfect sense. It is just not worth it to me any more. I like the day to day folk but the time has come to pack it in and enjoy my time!

Didn't you go back because you found that "the life bucolic" palled and you were a bit bored?
I would think that now you are on the mend a bit and you have additional hobbies, this may not recur. :D
 
...today I played "Mill-Boy" and drilled the holes in the plate for the M4 bolts.
The plate was transferred onto the hub-flange and clamped there and the holes were drilled through the flange as well.
Next will be the manufacture of a sort of "spider" to bridge between this plate and a 22T sprocket 10-12mm above the plate but still within the OLD.

I once welded a 5 gear derailier set to a Sturmey Archer, with 3 on the front as well it gave 45 possible selections
Never got to try them all :)

Unless it has a screen and buttons thay are lost.don't get me wrong I had employed some good young chaps but I would have to go through 20 to get 1 just look at the state the UK is in
