The "new" Samsung 'frost-free' fridge-freezer is making a terrible racket because...….?
The ruddy frost has built up and the air circulating fan's blades are catching on it.
So, switch it off, empty it all out and into the standby mini freezer (now crammed) and put the cheaper frozen items into the fridge side with cool-bags/packs around them.
Pans of hot water into the freezer side to try and accelerate the defrost. Really should NOT have to play around like this.
My old American import Whirlpool never had these issues and it lasted 25 years. This Korean thing is junk. :(

While I am fed up with it (it isn't a patch on the old Whirlpool I had) the icing up is probably our own fault.
Instead of getting ice for a drink via the front door panel and ice-chute, the wife fills a small tub with the ice and then opens the freezer door every time she wants some ice for a drink.
This constant opening of the freezer door will let hot and "moist" (snigger) air in and that then condenses on the freezer cold coils/panels to cause the problem (I think).
We are going to stop opening the door and start using the ice dispenser as it is intended to be used.
I am sure your new unit will be fine.

We have two Merkin style fridge freezers and worked like mad to find ones with no ice or water dispensers. It isn't that hard to use an ice tray and imagine leaving it 6 months unplugged and open as we do with both?:eek:
As it is they both work just fine. ;)
(He said, smugly!:p:p)
