I would just like to say

Despite my previous dissapointing experiences with an air fryer in the early days of them, Ive bought another, a ninja foodi max. My experience so far is knock at least a couple of minutes off the cooking time given in the instructions. I did some chips, 18 minutes from frozen they said. They came out overdone and very dry.

Yep thats wot eye fort anorl. Betterer to have to add on more time than chuck away burnt chips.
 
Eye is the prowd owner ov me ninja 160 air fryer. E's me 5th oven. Gorrim oot the box. Pulled the bag and tape oft. Quick look int book to see arf a kilo ov chips takes 20 mins on air fry. Fort betterer ov that. Put a breakfust bowl ov chips in. Air fry fer 10 mins. Checked every 3 mins. Came oot perfect. Bit crisper than eye remember but still perfect. Unlike microwaving them. Eye is well appy.

Given there may be delivery difficulties due to industrial action etc. you had all better get my gifts ordered ASAP. ;)
Please don't "cheapskate" and combine gifts with the phrase "Here's your Xmas AND Birthday present" like my family have always done because that just singles you out as a penny-pinching meanie. :mad:

As someone who enjoys their chips soft and soggy I find air fryer chips a bit dry for my taste. However, there's a particular variety of battered onion rings which we get from Iceland which come out very well indeed, and are just on the cusp between softness and crispness. We've got one called 'Instant Vortex'.
 
Just checked and yep, no Wi-Fi or phone signal in the cottage we will be staying in for the next week.
So I will go silent!!! as of tonight!
Try not to enjoy it too much!

the great thing about air-fyers is that you can flick the pan out of them and take a butchers whenever you want easily.
So you can get the cooking done very precisely.
I find they cook really quickly and need watching until you get used to them, and even then with different dishes.
Hardly ever use the oven now!;)

Microwaved oven chips will come oot a bit soggy.

Why not go for microwave chips? We find they always end up like that unless you really push it well beyond the stated cooking time!!

Well, if I had loads of people round I'd probably order in a takeaway, so everyone could have what they wanted. Xylia eats a lot of microwave chips. I must try some of hers one of these days.

Well, if I had loads of people round I'd probably order in a takeaway, so everyone could have what they wanted. Xylia eats a lot of microwave chips. I must try some of hers one of these days.

We love doing dinner parties, with all the proper "mise en place"! Crystal, silver, china, layers of cutlery, etc.
Prolly comes from my time in the restaurant game, we thought the French would love our attention to detail but after a while we realised we actually intimidated some of our guests so we had to tone it down.
"A la franchise" as they call it.
So the crystal gathers dust in the sideboard.:(
But at least they now know the Brits can actooly cook!:D:D:D
