Sounds dangerous. Bear in mind a standard 13A uk socket aint rated high enuff to take 3.5kw of lectric. If it goes above its rating it will over heat. Thats assuming its in good service and there's no wear on the pins.Plan is to let it all die when they turn the grid off, drop the incoming breaker, start the genny and plug the sewer-side cable (2.5mm mains cable with plugs either end) into the Genny and the closest mains socket and let it "back-feed" to the main bars in the distribution board and then on to the lighting rings etc.
A bit like "wives & mistresses", as long as the grid and the genny don't ever meet up then the 3.5kW of the genny should run the essentials.
Same Noco Charger as me. Good to know they respond so well.Genius 5. And I just ordered a GB50 jump starter.
Have a good time and enjoy yourself.Morning All.
A bit "warmer"? @ 0° today.
Up to the smoke for beers and a joke. Meeting all my old (1970's) IBM buddies.
Have a good day.
Yes, just because the genny can supply 3200 watts doesn't mean you would always pull 3200 watts continually. But 3200w / 240v is only around 13A So the fuse will blow and protect everything.Sounds danerous. Bear in mind a standard 13A uk socket aint rated high enuff to take 3.5kw of lectric.
