Yer cannot beat a Heinz baked bean
He’s good for liver, heart and spleen,
Yer always know where he has been,
The humble, loyal, Heinz baked bean.
The other day I tipped some out,
Anticipating Heinz beans clout
When something sowed a seed of doubt,
I couldn’t say what ‘twas about.
Sitting in my favourite chair,
Sprinkling pepper here and there,
I raised my fork and – Blind despair!
The beans could not be Heinz, I swear!
I ran out to the kitchen bin,
Pulled out the offending tin,
The label witnessed such a sin,
Heinz beans – with no sugar in!
So, working men, now hark to me,
When you want baked beans for your tea,
Yer must avoid what fate brought me,
The curse of baked beans, Sugar free!!
