Google "new keyboard for (whatever make of pooter you have)" it'll be a shed sight cheaper than a new pooter!!! even if you have to pay peeps to fit it. Fitting one round here would be about £40 and they'd prolly get a keyboard for you cheaper.;)
Ere's sum, both separate and asctool replacements of originals.

Yep, this is the important bit:
"Driving a vehicle that’s failed
You can take your vehicle away if:

  • your current MOT certificate is still valid"

Which it is and also i just checked its MOT status on the gov website and it lists it as valis till its expiry date. so yes we can still drive around in it!!!
Nice to do the sensible thing!!

oh no youve got dizzyitus :(
Yerp, still gives me an excuse to not do too much DIY. Though I did still do a bit in the utility. Sealed some plasterboard off which I had stripped the top layer and filled in places. Almost took longer to clean the feckin brush out, but don't tell her that!!
So this area is now ready for tiling.
Looking forward to it, I know I must be a bit Maso!!;):)

But you can still take it away if it’s not “major” and back once fixed as long as it’s booked in.
Even if expired can’t you?

So long as the vehicle is roadworthy. If it fails on a dangerous item you can get done, fined thousands of sovs and get a ban if you are nabbed driving it. And your insurance will be invalidated.

But you can still take it away if it’s not “major” and back once fixed as long as it’s booked in.

I fink if it is reeely, reeely "dangerous" they might impound it there and then but never heard of someone doing that
but with a "major" you can drive it around till the end of the MOT.
After a test you have two weeks to get it fixed. If OUT of MOT you can only drive it back to the MOT station, where they'll retest it, within two weeks.
Anyway we aren't feckin around, it's going back well within the two weeks.
If it fails we can still drive it but yet again we'll still have to get it fixed.

No, you CAN take it away if it is "Major" just not if it is "Dangerous".
3 categories:
Dangerous - must be fixed on the spot
Major - can be driven away, must be fixed and retested within 2 weeks or needs a new test. If existing MOT runs out after the two weeks can still be driven right up to the end of the certificate. But must be fixed to get a new MOT.
Advisory - basically it is up to you when you get it fixed, if at all. Can still present with it just the same at next MOT.

Have you tried turning yer keyboard upside down and knocking 3 months worth of crisps and crumbs out of it ?

No, you CAN take it away if it is "Major" just not if it is "Dangerous".

We took a 'dangerous' fail home and fixed it ...

MOT station was only 1/2 mile away, but we was taking a chance(ish), it was safe enough it was deemed by the MOT inspector ...
