@Western Slope Rover are you the last American left on the forum? We really don't have a balanced view of the States, as we all have different experiences of your countrymen! I have worked with a few engineers over the years but I still can't get a grasp of how things work over there!
Right now it's not working very well. Yesterday the President gave a speech basically calling half of Merka the enemies of most everything. So there are boogeyman everywhere these days. Gotta keep my head on a swivel because I think I might be one of the bad guys.

I may be one of the last Yanks here, if not the last. I think most of the others have been chased off or they don't speak your language the way I do.

So, who's been on a management training course then??? :D

Try driving a Dodge pickup you have owned 7days then hitch up a big trailer and drive 1600miles to here and think it's gonna be glitch free:eek::D.

You want to hear about its an adventure:mad::D:D:D. Ours starting in Kent hadn't even left the UK:eek:.

So no, I don't need any course to understand stressing dont fix the problem:D

they were from all over, But I will say most have not travelled to another planet they consider they have their own world;):D:D.

But when I was there I still dont get the issue with walking 400m to the bar from hotel and back without being told out the window of a car to "get a cab man";), do your legs not work:confused:.

J
I dunno. I'll check.

Had to stay at home today as the gas fitter was coming to do my annual boiler service (He's been n gone, job done). So got on with a few little jobs which have queued up of late. Sharpened the blades on a couple of pocket knives (they were struggling to cut pencil points). Put a new plug on 'er indoors food mixer. And the most important job - the rear windscreen wiper on me tratter seemed to be dragging so I set about squirting a bit of spray grease into the spindle. Thought it would be just a case of removing the spare wheel cover to get at it - but the spare wheel had to come off, first time since the tratter left the factory. Gave the rear door a wash and wax polish - again first time in 10 years in the area behind the wheel. And boy, does the door feel light without the wheel on. SO the wheel is now strapped into the back of the Landy where it will stay until I need load space again. :D. The dragging wiper was most likely down to the arm rubbing on the wheel cover, evidenced by paint rubbed off the arm. And the pvc cover has gone a bit hard and brittle, so gonna have to get a noo one.

.

With Trump fighting a war against a cabal of elitist blood drinking paedos on the other side? You can see I might be confused..

Afternoon folks:).

Lovely day again here:).
we have just chilled today, took Nephew to the airport yesterday, had some grub on the way it makes it easier so we dont have to cook when we get back, well thats our excuse:p:).

I did go to the little breakers yard that popped up and bagged myself some LHD headlights for the beast. so will swap them and store the originals incase;).
Good ole fashioned breaker can walk around and take bits off or point, ask price and say yep I will have them, and they take them off:). Sadly, the Disco they had was a manual:(. And of course, he had a good look over the fender as they all seem to do:).

So as Its Friday Its beer O clock:). Not that I need an excuse:D.

Hope everybody has survived the week work so you can enjoy the weekend:).

Nice one.
(Clinks glasses!):):):)

Thinking about cars is really getting me down today :( I'm in a no win situation and i don't like that! I can't be without a car and i feel like I'm buying the first thing that comes along to make my problem go away
I've been there, just by a cheap banger that is going. Then you have short term settled the problem and can take your time looking about you,
When I couldn't get the Dolomite Sprint to run right I bought an Opel Manta A series with a bad oil leak for £25, Ran if for a year, it was lovely drive!
Then a rusty Mk3 Cortina with a replacement engine, that too ran fine!
(Still hadn't fixed the Dolly and CBA)
Then a Renault 14 for £100 ran that for years, it looked like sh!t so people kept away from it!
Then bought my first Kit Car (Marlin Roadster), split up with my ex so she took the Renault 14 leaving me with just the Marlin, ran around all the time in that until I bought a Marina 1.8 cos that was the donor for the Marlin so I could take it apart and rebuild it. (£125)
Sold the Dolly to someone who knew how to fix the fault and then stripped it down and built a kit car based on it, despite the fact the body work was excellent.
Met Wifey (to be) so she had a more recent car.

So just a short idea of why you shouldn't take my advice!!!!
You'll become a dedicated banger motorist and spend real money on hobby cars.
Oh, but then you like LRs.
Too late!!!:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::D:D:D:D:D:D

Cheaper to buy a cheap run around something like this 2002 Black London Taxis International Txii for sale for £500 in Diss, Norfolk (autotrader.co.uk)

:D:D
Although the milage is a little on the high side:p.

That'll go to a Rodder or customiser, because quite simply they have a chassis and can then be modded without having to go through IVA . I learned this from my mate who runs an MOT station and is really big in customising etc, the guy with the pink car I put up a while back. He says they are breaking their necks to buy em.
But as you can see from my other post, agree totally, banger best way forward. ;)

Not helpful. Am actually interested..
The thing is, Trump isn't president anymore. He isn't any of the current Republican candidates either. He certainly isn't the men and women I know who vote Republican.
He's a bombastic ex-prez who was elected because many Merkins despise the entrenched politicians in government around here.

I know no QAnon believers nor do I know any militia members, although I am good friends with many Mormons. ;)

To be presented and seen in the light of an outsider candidate and the most extreme of his followers is getting tiring. Yet it persists. I'm beginning to think it says more about the Trump haters than the baffling folks who voted for him. So are other knuckle draggers here in the States.

What about those candidates who readily refute the last election result to garner Trumps endorsement. Then we have characters like Marjory Taylor Greene. Maybe our news over here is badly weighted and I'm poorly informed, but baffled I certainly am.
