Weirdly when we bought and picked up the trailer, we drove W's car to it and put it on in front of the sales guy to make sure it all went on properly, then got home and reversed the rig off the road, up the shared drive then onto our place in one fell swoop.

Length ratio between tow car and trailer has a big bearing on how easy it can be shorter tow car is easier:).
So I was told:). which is why some artic drivers make it look so easy:D.

Dead right. When my mate and I did MSA recovery we had a jib on the back on two wheels. Very short wheel base, was an absolute fecker to reverse.

You may need to look at some of these reversing a trailer - YouTube :p:p.

I do like Billy C I must admit:):)

I did watch them to see if there was anything I'd been missing, but no, I'd already done all they say.
And after years of experience with the huge box trailer that you cannot see through I thought I was OK.
After all I was OK in Frogland where our frontage isn't that big and can only be entered down a steep narrow drive at a heck of an angle.
I think part of the issue is I usually park a trailer on the opposite side of the frontage which is a totally different shape and had its own but different problems.

And Billy C is King, isn't he?!
I'll put some pics up so peeps can get and idea, if they can BA!;)

Please, will someone tell me?
Why, oh feckin why, when you drive a Landy and long wide trailer into a tight space next to a curved wall, can you not simply reverse it out again????:mad::mad::mad:
Especially as I removed two large plant tubs which were alongside the wall.:mad::mad:
No matter how many times I tried, pulling forwards when it wasn't going right and trying again, the Disco just got closer and closer to the wall and when it wasn't the ffing trailer just kicked over away from the line it needed to be on to go through the gap.
I ended up unhitching and physically pulling the 750 kg trailer into a space so that I could hitch up again and then shift it. On thick gravel which didn't help at all.
Once off my drive I was able to borrow an opposite neighbour's empty drive to turn the rig round and then reverse back onto my drive and right up into a corner with no real fuss. Against the curved wall again.
Bonkers!!!
All those of you who are ace trailer/van/carryvan reversers will be chortling by now!!!
And I have backache in a different place to the usual!
Tis gloomy here but not quite raining just yet.
Have a lovely day folks!
:):):):)
That's a long winded way of saying you can't drive.

So here is some pics.
First the frontage, with from left to right, one of the Disco 1s with the 16 foot box trailer behind it, then the other Disco 1, then W's Chesil Speedster, then my Marlin Roadster, then the space I left for her Pluriel then obvs the D2 and the noo trailer.

This is the angle at which you have to approach it or leave it due to where the house is in relation to the shared drive, the house to the right belongs to the mad woman and her husb.

You can see the curvature of the wall, better here.

We put the wall up because the previous owner was an old bag who was forever driving over what at the time was our garden with grass bushes etc.
It did stop her, she reversed into the end pillar and dented her car. It has a reinforced concrete core, unlike the one on the near end which as some of you will rmember keeps getting knocked down by delivery drivers until i put the flower tub in front of it. And it isn't shared all the way up so I can't use it much!
I only drove straight in cos it was 10:45 p.m. and couldn't be fecked trying to reverse in in the dark.
Er, Kev knows about most of the tat. He's dying to get hold of the D1 V8. But the Speedster is up for grabs. We are hoping to flog it to someone who knows it, our MOT tester's girlfriend who has expressed an interest.
Kev has had a Marlin roadster before.
The box trailer has been on for sale and is again now I suppose but I'd have to be sure I could move the V8 out of the way so a buyer could take it away! We didn't manage to flog it before we left in March. Though there was interest.

Ah. No excuses then
:D
problem usually comes with exerting too much force too quickly at the wrong angle thereby allowing (forcing) the trailer to turn rather than moving on an arc.
:)
Er thanks, I think!
My other one is a 2 axle as well and i manage OK with it.
I do kick it over then swing the wheel the other way to try and follow the arc, but it still seems to be too slow to come out of the arc. Might be to do with its length as well.
Could also be to do with the fact that I am doing it on thick gravel and there is no weight on the trailer.

Don't matter to me:p:D. But I do feel for those waiting for the 5pm chime to escape for a couple of days:).

I gave up at 2pm as I was leaking so much:). Seem to have a flock of wagtails on the pool cover, topping up on their food and a bit of a bath before onward travel to warmer climates:).

So so so ready for 5. You can get special underwear for leaking
