Back from my ride (only 9.9 miles (ten for cash). ;)
So far that's 60 miles (20 on each 10AH battery) and 20 on the bigger 20AH brick.
A further 20 miles is expected to be delivered by the 20AH brick (2 more of these rides).
This will hopefully mean that extended daily round-trips can be undertaken in Holland between 5-Hour recharging cycles.
A proper Bacon & Egg brunch has now been cooked and enjoyed. :D

I could put a padlock and chain on the front gates so they would have to climb over. I will have a camera focused on the drive gates and entrance.
Way to go!!!!!
I'm sorry about this but I realised yesterday, when the hinternet was down yet again, that i was talking bollix about Octopus requiring you to have a Smart meter.
They don't. (Just checked on their website)
What made me think they did was that they DO require you to do everything paperless over the internet. But the smartmeter thing came about because we had them fitted, to both gas and electricity, when we were with British Gas.
Eventually Octopus must have been able to use them, so they did.
And as I said it isn't a problem for us in fact it is a benefit.
:):):)

Who really wants to pay for Domino's or whatever when you can simply deconstruct a cheap fresh supermarket Pizza scrape off the cheese and add your own layer of butter softened onions & peppers and make some home-made Italian sausage with quality butchers sausages and ground fennel and then put the cheese back on top? @Shimsteriom would be proud of me.
Delicious.

Or simply buy the cheapest (and therefore simplest) pizza they sell then "dress it up" with your own extra toppings.
I add chorizo, salami, olives etc etc.
But I guess you have sussed this already!
Good on yer!!:):):)
Enjoy!!!

They all listen. Sometimes peeps fall out with their suppliers. I was questioned as to why my meter readings were low when me castle was unoccupied. The first fing they fink of is the meter is faulty. Hence gerrin a replacement fitted. But if yer tell them yer dun't use much leccy and why, they will understand. Eye assume they put a tick on yer account to keep a record yer a low user and the reason why. Gerrin a smart meter fitted int a problem. There's lots of spoof theories on the web that it is. Ovo will accept pic readings via their fone app of you can email them.

Direct debits are negotiable, but all suppliers have been told by Oftgen to monitor accounts to reduce the risk of potential bad debt. Ovo have no choice in this. Same for others. A recent discussion wiv my supplier ovo advised they have had to put in new policies to monitor accounts differently to before. The sweep of direct debit increases across the UK is partly down to this as well as the generation costs going up. Them's who picked a lucky time to go into a fixed price deal are lucky. Mine ended several months ago.
Agree totally with this.
Octopus always warn you when they are going to bang up your DD. You ring up and say "Oi, no need to do this we are going away, yet again." And blokey sez "OK, sorry about that, the upping of the DD is part of an automatic computer thing, (prolly an algorithm) but we can override it and will do so for you, don't worry about any further messages about it, it'll acksherly do what we have just agreed."
And it has done.
I did try to get them to explain why the computer couldn't see our consumption year on year, some time ago, and use that, can't remember his explanation for why it couldn't but it sort of made sense. He just said, "Don't worry, all you have to do is ring us and it'll get sorted out." Very friendly and no issues.
No more estimated bills is brill tho!!
In both countries. Our bills have dropped noticeably in Frogland as a result!

Eye has been finking about this for a while. Eye has an economy 7 meter. Int uk there is also an economy 10. The number is the amount of hours yer get cheaper lectric at oft peak hours. The hours vary slightly but it's somefink like 11pm or 1am, onwards for e7. E10 has 7 hours at night and 3 in the day. Typically in the afternoon.

If yer gorra economy 7 or 10 meter then yer dun't have to use it like that. Yer can chose not to have an economy package which is somefink I'm finking of at the moment. Yer pay a bit more for lectric in the non economy hours, and pay less in the economy hours. If you have no economy option then yer pay a flat rate somewhere between the 2 all the time.

E7 or e10 meters are great if yer use enuff leccy during economy hours to benefit. It's great if yer gottid storage heaters or a lectric car to charge. Eye choose not to do washing over nite assit's a fire risk. Me washer is quiet so eye could gerrup at 6am to put it on. Eye have a mechanical variable timer which can go up to 2 hours so eye can leave fings on to charge at nite. Fings like the microwave are switched oft. Only me alarm, fire alarms, oot side light pir sensors and heating controller run at nite. Bin switching fings oft fer years.

Ovo quoted me the price difference of 1 sov per month saving by dropping the economy option. My heating and hot water is gas. Everyfink else is leccy. So eye fink eye will make the move. Not worf it for me at the moment but eye would like the option to go back one day.
We have timers on both our washing machine and our dishwasher, so we could set them and then go to bed. But in France the cheap electric starts at 10:30 pm and I am rarely in bed before then, so I can just switch them on.
It goes off at 6 a.m though.
But Tariff Tempo is fantastic as we get cheaper electric than anyone else, most of the time, and when it is more expensive, we aren't here!!

Most cooking is with a microwave. The oven takes time to heat up and more time to cook. So it's quicker and cheaper. Gas usage is low anorl. Especially after fitting a clever heating controller that allows me to pick which rooms get heat and when and what temp they're set to. Ealier eye added more time periods to each room so the heating dun't come on when it's cool int morning int summer, so we don't heat up me cassul before the sun comes oot and heats it for free.
Our Microwave has just bust.
I was shocked to find that it uses 1200 watts! (Gives out 800 watts)
I thort, as a lot of peeps do that it is "the same as an electric lightbulb", what bollix!! More like 20 60 watt bulbs.
hope the new one will be more energy efficient.
Wifey has just reminded me that we have a dry fryer oven type thing that I could cook my chops and sossiges, in rather than use the electric fan oven. Must look into it.
Thanks for making us think a bit!!:):):)

35 years ago today, I asked the other half out. We are off to the pub in a while for a meal to celebrate as we always do every year :) well usually we go away for the week but this has not happened for the last couple of years.......
I like this.
We too celebrate the date we first met as to us it is almost more important than our wedding anniversary as we married 9 years or so after we moved in together, which we did the weekend we met!!!
Have a lovely time!!!:):):):):)

correction.
I said our internet was down.
No it wasn't, my frickin pooter decided it wsuddenly couldn't "see" the WiFi box. Wifey's tablet was fine.
Din't know what else to do so tried a system restore, it didn't like that so tried to set up anew date to restore to, whatever it took from that it obviously worked.
So, do any peeps on here have an idea as to how its sensor or aerial or whatever got switched off? Just in case it happens again?:confused::confused:

Absolutely no idea.
I just had to a quick change to the I pad to watch the motogp as the laptop was having none of it on the wifi. Then just restarted the laptop and all is fine;).

Motogp worth a watch :), If you like a bit of elbow saves:D @kermit_rr @Shimsteriom and all the other motorbike fans:).

But usually a restart sorts it for me, you need to stop looking at those dodgey websites:eek:.

Eye was watching 'butlersempire' on youtube ealier this week. He's just bort an 'air fryer'. Looks quite interesting. Uses more power than a microwave but opens up the opertunities available for different food options. I'd never come across them before. I have seen the ones where there's a drum turning that dip's fings in fat to fry, as it turns. not sure wot they is called. But the air fryer does look interesting. We have one of them there mean green grilling fings anorl. We ain't used the oven this year.

My meter is only a few years old as SSE replaced it. I never touch the meter or even open the cupboard unless they ask for a reading. I always keep my account in credit, even to the point of making an additional payment if I know I have used more eg. at Christmas I let the local villagers use my electricity supply to illuminate their seasonal display 'cos I am the only person who can get electricity to it.

I fully appreciate the need for OVO to get to know their customers but there are ways and ways of doing this and sending letters accusing them as someone ''liable to get into debt'' and threatening to send in an engineer with a Smart meter, NOT the best way of going about it. How they come to their decision about who is a good and who is a bad risk I have no idea but they are certainly not going about it the right way by sending letters of this type to customers. I note that I have not been reminded of the generous amount of my cash they are holding in credit.

I have now decided to send in a meter reading EVERY DAY until they get fed up of receiving them and make a polite request for me to stop.
If yer meter's recently new then I would be surprised if it wurn't already a smart meter. If yer can't gerra fone signal where yer live's then it probably won't work assa meffud of automatically suppling the meter reading as they use GPRS for the comms signal. It's unlikely yer can get said signal where yer lives. Have a look at it. It will say onnit. Ovo should already know the type from the identity number. Praps they fink it's broke'd but they will be aware of signal problems in remote area's.

We've had a lot of troubles with our phone lines here recently since they have been "repairing" damage done in a storm.
Reboots, even a hard one didn't do it. Hence the system restore.
Hmmmmm!:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:
As my Ma was a doc, I never got to own a motorbike as a lad, altho i cut my teeth on them working on my mate's who had loads of old lovely ones, AJS, Matchless etc. Cheap at the time I suppose, (early 1970s)
Ma was for ever coming home from work with stories of dreadful bike accidents, "He came in one ambulance, his leg in another", "Two of them decided to play "chicken" but neither of them swerved away", "He's in bed now, with half his skull open", "crossmatching blood by the bucketful"
etc etc etc, you get the picture!!!:eek::eek:
But tis exciting to watch!;)
Enjoy!!!:):):)
