Nothing to lose then really. Except the costs. Which in such an open and shut case wouldn't be much.
Bankruptcy may hurt them a bit especially if they get some bad publicity.
But it is not a good position to be.
Could he crowd fund it on Facebook? Or try crowd funding the repairs?
I think he'd get a lot of sympathy.
Not sure I dont know anything about crowd funding.

..that I have had more "lathe fun" today and my threaded parts are all ok.
So I now have 2 freewheel adapters that thread on perfectly fine; one LH and one RH.
I have not drilled the centres out for axles yet as the jury is out as to whether they will be 16mm or 19mm.
The next task will be to make a number of short collars to go over M8 bolts on either side of a central drive-sprocket where the bolts lock the two freewheels (L & R) together.
This will mean BOTH rear wheels of the trike will be driven but they will be able to run at different rates when cornering and this will prevent any tyre scrub issues.
I am pleased that a total numbskull like me can actually do this sort of stuff.

but I have the pad + rear pegs and original ecu in a box, been trying to get the original exhaust silencers too. J

Hi Marjon, Yes, this is indeed for a Delta trike with 2 driven wheels at the back and one steered wheel up front.Well again everyday a school day. To me a trike is 2at the back
I would have thought a pedal trike would have been fixed across the rear if it was 2 wheels (just learnt this is not normal
Tyre scrub over that short distance surely with the skinny tyres wouldn’t matter
Most commercial trikes have only one wheel driven at the back but both wheels braked (on a split axle). This is so that when cornering the outside tyre can run at a different speed (like Ackerman steering on a cars front wheels and the diff on the rear wheels on a car) it prevents the tyre that is being asked to travel further from being scrubbed the extra distance like an eraser (this is the death of bike tyres).
So this unit is intended to be an answer to that problem. I don't need one (I don't have a delta trike), but I thought the engineering challenge would be fun (and it is).

I fink there's a way they can put a 'hold' notice on assets before court action starts. Legal peeps would be the next step. Scotland does law different to england. Eye dun't follow it so not sure. How did he pay? 28k sovs is a big loss. Going to the press as an ex military peep may be an option to shame them or brand em for life. The Sun would be all over it. Took ma ippo ferra drive and bort im some diesel. Me normal petrol station was closed so eye looked around. Others was higher priced so eye kept going and found anuvva. Put the pipe in and looked round and the fekker said 1.699 sovs. So eye puts the pipe back un goes inside un ses 1.699 fer diesel? Peep ont till ses that pump only does premium. Use the two far parking fings for normal diesel. They is only small and int gottid many spaces. So be careful peeps. Always check the cost after pickin up the pump fing. Eye normnally buys premium every 3rd tank but norrat thems prices eye aint.
