Can't see how having a bust key can have done this.
Did it accidentally short summat in/under the steering column or near the ignition switch?
If it won't start I'd a thort even a normal old skool OBD11 reader would have told you.
I suppose you have already checked all the fuses and relays, and that the batt is fully charged?
Maybe time to join a MINI forum?

Looks like batt's OK then.Ive got the following of the diagnostics......I will have a look at mini forums, she aint pleased and now
just asked me to go & get her a car. Battery fully charged all fuses ect all good I also had the jump leeds
on it to see if its a low voltage thing but battery was 12.64v with a starting capacity of 87%.

don't know what year the car is or if the MINI Cooper is different in any way
