Wonder if he wears stockings to match?
@kevstar would look like he’s going to the rocky horror show
Well I've swapped the propshafts.
Had a closer look at both of em in daylight and found that, erk, both had cracked cups that hold the big round swivelly thing in the middle of the Hookes joint.
Your OLD long johns!Lol Eeekkk more ...
My old long jons could be classed as stockings there were so many ols in em
And there is me thinking the Hardy-Spicer was the name for an ornery U/J.Hardy spicer
Your OLD long johns!
so do you renew them every so often then?
I have to admit to never having worn long johns in my life.
Things i have missed out on!
And there is me thinking the Hardy-Spicer was the name for an ornery U/J.
The Hooke joint (Or double cardan joint) has two U/Js joined by a ball joint so that as one U/J moves the ball thing moves the other one.
see pic from this "how to". This chap calls it a "centre bearing".

I have done U/Js before and it don't phase me at all but the centre bearing is new territory for me!
If you said that to me before, I'd have thought of the centre bearing on a Mk3 Cortina or some such, but this aint' much like that!
