Those old main baulk timbers are impressive. Are they sound? They look more substantial than railway sleepers...but longer.
Are you going to bolt soldier-joists onto the old stuff you "cut back to good" and run the soldiers through to restore the deck/verandah?
... that I am distressed because my expensive TIG welder has gone "PHUT".
HF start isn't starting; torch is permanently live and explosive.

Funny things, roll like a boat and you drive them with your foot flat to the floor.I had a version of one of those, a citroen ami, was a good car until some burd in a hillman imp ran in to the back of it at Luss. It was a frosty morning and she hadn't bothered to scrape her windscreen. My ami got a bit crunched but her imp ended up quite a bit shorter .
