Thats round the other side from me tis very nice but out the way, quite a tight drive on the road in
especially the right hander at Balmaha 1st gear shot up the hill be warned lol
That road is a dead end if you keep going pub ect tis nice on a sunny day.
Much more to see & do round at balloch side & up the A82 to Glen Coe, or up the Rest and be thankful
you will see much more of the loch side ect
The surroundings are spectacular. ;)
There's nowt like local knowledge. :D

Well had a little go at the Disco today.
Jacked up wheels and turned propshafts, checked UJs, rubber donut, etc.
Thort maybe the handbrake shoes might have been rubbing so backed them off a tad.
Checked levels on rear axle and Tranny box, both fine.
Still cannot find anything wrong to give the thrum-thrum-thrum, but still doing it.:mad::mad::mad:
Had a lunch type meal for once. Tacos, yummy. then had unexpected visitors who only stayed a little while but enough to make us late for the "Marché des producteurs", so had to look hard for somewhere to sit. Bought a bottle of Rosé and drank most of it wondering if the peeps we normally see would turn up.
They didn't but we knew they were busy.
Place was very busy, the lady who sells the "caillé de brebis" recognised us. So we could buy some. (Can't find it in the shops.)

Delish, we got 3 different flavours.
So that was it really.
Not really hot just nicely comfortable.:):):)

I take it you have driven at speed & knocked it out of gear, dipped clutch ect. ??

No clutch, tis an auto, but with a nice steep mountain to drive up and down as we has to, i have tried knocking it into neutral and coasting down, it is still there with no engine driving it, so it is somewhere in the transmission or running gear. Totally related to road speed, not which gear it is in or what revs the engine is at.
No lights on dash nor nowt to indicate worn wheel bearings, which I would expect knowing the sensitivity of the three amigos/ABS system. Haven't even bothered to feel for that either yet.
It is a bit worse in turns. Have yet to test the CV joints although their rubbers look fine, I know this proves little.
What has always amazed me is how much play there is in the driveline of a 4x4. Coming out of the tranny box there seems to be a heck of a lot, but it still drives brill.:(:(

Had to p!ss about with the standard Disco jack as, yet again, it has lost oil. Was to be found in the rear pannier! The seals at the top of each section of it seem to leak so I am going to keep it totally upright from now on. It works perfect once topped up with oil and pumped around a bit to get rid of the air. But if I keep it even slightly off vertical it leaks.
I am wondering if the differences in temperatures have made the oil blow the seals a bit in some way. God knows. Anyway I always have a trolley jack on board just in case.

Wifey said she could hear it, once i pointed it out to her, now says she can't hear it at all!

There's a bloke 20 miles away who has shedloads of spares but of course this is the first time for years we have come away with only one vehicle!
So thank you for your very kind offer, but we are just too far away to take you up on it. I think i am just going to have to test what I haven't tested yet and if I still can't diagnose it, just drive it until it gets much worse and hopefully therefore more obvious what it is.:mad::mad:

I done exactly that with my last Evo, months before I could find it turned out to be a wheel bearing
but by then it had welded its self into the hub feckn 6 hours of heating & battering the lift out it with
a slide hammer.
Woke up the next day with w@nkers cramp couldnt move my right hand lol

Evening folks.

Was out again tonight helping with a collection point for more of the LFD's that we delivered earlier today. It was publicised that the collection area wouldn't be open until 7.30 yet people were queuing up at at 6:50

After a mad few minutes to begin the rest of the evening went smoothly with no complains or anger and some people even thanked us for what we were going, which was nice. :)

Anyhoo, I've caught up with me YouToob videos and licking and am now relaxing with a chilled beer looking forward to a lie-in tomorrow as all this fresh air has made me sleepy.

Sometimes you need more than a tow-truck to recover your car after an accident.
