....that I had to chuckle. Wifey lets her brother (the useless BIL) know what we are going to be doing to get his mother's toilet fixed and to provide a new quarter-turn taps on her basin, a working shower AND fix the Economy 7 Immersion heater he tried and failed to fix 2 years ago.
He is "surprised" that we (the one's who are actually bothering to turn up and do something for his Mum, rather than just sit at home feeling sorry for ourselves) are not also fitting a new shower-tray and a new enclosure as well.
She's 92, and hates "change" and struggles to cope with new things, so we are trying to be minimally invasive so she gets simple fixes and minimal disruption.
The Cheeky Sausage.

I am trying to tone-down my ill-will towards him. I do think he's a complete ar$e, but we are stuck with him; and TBH, I would not want to be him or have all his mental/physical problems and hang-ups.
He's just a classic "sad-sack" and I should not let his negativity affect me so much.

.... When you meet the "Nutter on the Bus" or the odd "Random" that is muttering and talking out loud, don't recoil in horror, be kind.
They are letting you hear their "internal dialogue" their little conversations with themselves, sometimes they are scolding, sometimes advising themselves.
The yare not mad, they just lack the "secrecy" we all normally deploy.
So always try to be kind when you meetme one.

Hey up you lot we had another scorcher, my clothes were soaked through, had to stop for
water breaks every half hour or so. Got loads done on the roof, got the rest of one side
stripped of slate & down to ground level, an about half of the old boards off plus about 20
new sarking boards on. Totally knackered what a shift.
