Anything will sell as long as it's clean and at or below market price. Works for cars and houses. A trick to sell quicker is to have an open day where they get lots of buyers to come round ont same day. Yer pay more for that. Or drop the price to attract more buyers.

According to the local chatter, 70% of purchasers around here are London folk. You can't have an open day due to walrus restrictions.
Yes the percentage is fixed and is negotiable. I have a price that makes it work for me so going below that is not something I am prepared to do. I can stay here for the rest of my life, my Mrs doesn't want to be here after I am gone!
 
It's a bit too early for the sun but the mist is quite heavy at the moment. I expect it will turn out much as yesterday - and that was a lovely sunny and warm day.
It's D-day for the 'van so fingers crossed!
It's binman day today, too, and, thanks to one of my many' reminders', the recycling is down at the gate ready for an 8am collection. I had an email from the County yesterday telling me that they are introducing the 'sorted system' over the next two years and asking for feedback. Although it is a good idea I just wonder how they plan to get the new larger trucks along the country roads where overtaking for other traffic is just not possible. There is no way that I will be able to carry all the required filled boxes down to the gate - it looks as if a permanent shelter for the containers will be needed outside the gate so that I can just take it all down bit-by-bit and put it in the appropriate box.
Enjoy your day folks, but don't work too hard 'cos there's four full days to go before the weekend. :(

Managed to get 25kg of copper clout nails 300 quid :eek: & winch/hoist out of machine mart to
rig up as a lift speedy hire wanted 180 quid a week to hire one so bought one for 150 squids
I'll see how that goes today.

Got 20 tonne of 100mm crush for infill for my new garage site so a wee shift wi the digger later.

... That I properly fitted a little carriage lock to the lathe yesterday. It involved buying a 5mm TC engineers bit to drill through the hardened casting of the carriage and putting an M5 dome/flange-headed bolt through it and a compression spring and the lock casting underneath. I am pleased to say it works a treat and facing cuts are perfect now. :) @My Old Landy

That looks just the ticket! I am still waiting for the belt splice from lathes.co.uk that I ordered on the 28th of last month :( I have tried ringing but he has not answered yet. It says 'pending' on the web portal......

re the sorted waste, which is what we have to do, although not like you, we put the green bin with the glass bottles in it IN the wheely bin with the green lid which takes paper, cardboard, aluminium, and wheel it down while carrying the brown bin that has food waste in it. But maybe you could use a sack truck or one of those trolley type things with 4 wheels the front two of which have a bar attached to the axle, a bit like a "bogey" we used to have as kids? Wifey has a few of these she uses for gardening.
