After a good night's sleep I was awakened by my big canine! I knew straight away that something was not normal 'cos he doesn't get out of bed until 9am ……… and there it was, a beautiful sunny morning, blue sky, no wind and lots of happy birdies flying about. No rain! He just stood in the open doorway drinking in this rare sight and then ……. he turned round and went back to bed!! I made my cuppa and then did the same, meanwhile the wee one went off to kip out in the sunshine.
I hope you are all enjoying this rare and joyous sight too.:)
You could almost be fooled that it is Summertime, couldn't you? ;)

Unnecessarily cruel of you to be showing a sturdy rear post and easy "parting off" ;)
Still cannot get sufficient rigidity in my little 8 x 14 machine for parting. :(
But good to see you are having so much fun.
Cheers Dan, yes the rear toolpost is a great addition! I saw a video where the chap puts a jacking bolt under the parting tool and that helped. I think it was an early mattys workshop (chap in Australia).

...that without so much as a "by your leave" or any warning whatsoever, the gas blokes have parked a pipe-laying drum across my driveway.
Their pipe has now got "stuck" further down the street and we are "blocked in" until they can get it clear again and complete the pipe laying.
Its not like we have a life or anything, is it? ;)

Morning All :D
I am up because I couldn't bear to lie there a moment longer. :(
It is a lovely day with lots of blue sky & sunshine.
The gas men that damaged my house yesterday failed to reconnect me and will be back today.
Now here's a strange thing.... They have caused all this upheaval because all of our incoming pipework must be changed from metal to plastic.
On excavating to damage my house they declare that "Oh, its already plastic".
So the damage to the house, the move of the meter and the installation of long run of copper pipework inside my garage was all unnecessary and is all for?
Nothing. None of this need to have been done if they had carried out a proper survey first.:mad:
But I bet someone is getting charged for the work and it ends up on the domestic users gas-bill.
Have a great day. :D
You poor sod, hope they made all good.

This is the carpet we chose for the high traffic area :)

Very nice! Coincidentally we are getting stair and landing done too. Dark green heather type stuff. By Tapi.???!!! Anything done by a trade and supplied by a shop, if it comes in at less than a grand, I am happy. So at about£850 I am happy. Tis bloody hardwearing stuff. Will have to be with our dogs!
Your stuff looks very similar.!!
