the defender is an agricultural vehicle - why do some people use them as everyday vehicles?

the freelander is the perfect everyday car with excellent off-road ability

the disco sits inbetween the defender and the freelander, if you work on a farm have a defender, if you want a car with excellent off-road ability have a freelander, why have a disco?
why not??????use a 90 everyday, i do not a problem

I'm not slagging fenders off if you read what I've said I like the Flippin things! It's just the narrow minded that can't accept other vehicles for what they are! And just by the way having owned and driven all of them off road I can assure you a freelander is very capable even without a low range:) I've embarrassed you "proper" landy owners several times off road. They're totally differen,t built to do different jobs and both do them well! And they're both unreliable. Yours rust ours do head gaskets, I can accept that. Can you? or shall I bring the tape measure round to compare sizes!!!!:D
i agree why are you slagging off defenders in this section freelanders well to be honest i think theyre a pile of crap there i said it so what ,they were designed in recent years with electric gizmos ,as for series defender its a how you drive off road and b what kit you have off road ive got quaife diffs on mine and its never failed anywhere , but so has my mates series 2 with detroit lockers , i like the easyness of to work on the 90 ,and no eletrics my mate is on his 4 th freelander and every one has been problematic

Freelanders are too small and are too soft (carpets etc) for what I use my 110 for. I wouldn't want to load the inside of a carpeted vehicle with stuff going to the skip, or even let my kids eat in a cloth covered seat. So that makes my 110 a daily

I started worrying when it all went wrong as a prototype :)

I got a chance to see this vehicle earlier in the year when the dunfold collection was on display. Seen it many times in books and ont web but getting a chance to have a proper look round it was something quite special.

not as sad as you look driving your Freelander  and no1 will want a old freelander when there 20 years old no1 wants um now.
Rubbish. Freelanders have only just turned 20 this year and there's loads of early ones about. It's an iconic design just like the original tratter.

this thread is sad so are freelander owners, specailly the one who started this thread.

wonder how much a freelander would be in 20 years time, well depends how much the value of scrap is.
Am not sad. I'm quite happy with me Freelander. Delusional may be but not sad. In years to come yer'll realise the true value of Freelanders. ;)

edit: oops din't realise it were that old

Every vehicle has pro's and con's. If trattering makes you and yer pig happy then so be it. :)
