Some pics from today.....oak table that my mate made for a gift for someone....
Had to cut it in half to fit it through the planner then stick it back together
first coat of epoxy applied, but way too cold in the unit for this so a rub down
& second coat is required.

Funny how "rustic" is the new "cool".
When I was a kid no woman would ever have such a thing in the house as they never wore jeans and the edges would catch their tights or stockings all the time! My ma used to take a piece of sandpaper with her to work to sand down any part of the bench that caught her tights, (Doc working in a Pathology lab).

Wotabout a golden leylandi then? Grow fast as heck and much nicer colour than the others, but weaker if grown in competition with them.
We made a hedge of them, both colours, alternating, but planted too close together, 1 metre apart. It did the job but the golden ones are almost invisible.
Not flowering though.We now have 85 of them to top,
. but we wanted it up fast, they were about 1 metre when planted and are now, 11 years later, about 12 metres high.We also planted two weeping willows and they are even higher. Really pretty trees.
Let us know what you decide on!

Medium-density fibreboard (MDF) is an engineered wood product made by breaking down hardwood or softwood residuals into wood fibres, often in a defibrator, combining it with wax and a resin binder, and forming it into panels by applying high temperature and pressure.[1] MDF is generally more dense than plywood. It is made up of separated fibres, but can be used as a building material similar in application to plywood. It is stronger, and more dense, than particle board.[2]
The name derives from the distinction in densities of fibreboard. Large-scale production of MDF began in the 1980s, in both North America and Europe.

I once had a gas inspection by not my normal guy on a house I rented out. It failed cos the pipes coming out of the boiler weren't wrapped against any soot or brickdust etc that could possibly fall on them.My plumber carefully wound 'electricians' tape round all the copper pipe that was going through walls etc. I thought that was a weird thing to do until he explained it all.
So I called my normal guy in who was hugely apologetic and wrapped them. He then gave it the pass certificate.
We didn't think it should have failed as the pipes were in stainless.
But then the tenants did tell me that when the guy turned up to fail it, his opening remark was "I hate landlords".

Sorry but that tw@t deserves a fu cking kicking.....My "ghast" is well and truly flabbered this morning.
I am all too well aware of the verbal battering one gets if one ignores clothes or bog-rolls placed on top of a newel-post and does NOT deliver them to their intended destination (married men will understand this phenomenon).
So, I brought 3 loo-rolls that were atop the upstairs newel post down to the downstairs bog but was a bit confused as there were already at least 3 rolls on the "pending" stack.
Wife comes down and tells me the 3 rolls I brought down are destined for her Mother (who I went shopping for on Monday night and who didn't have loo-roll on her list!!!).
But wait, there's more.....
Why does the old lady have no loo roll?
Because that "ar$hole waste of effing space" son of hers took all 3 of her loo rolls when he visited on Sunday because he didn't have any at his home.
So "WE" end up providing replacements because HE can't manage his own ar$e-wiping affairs.
Thanks for listening...I needed to get that off my chest.
