Ouch! Hope the dear lady is feeling better today.
Remind her that being heroic but ending up in a wheelchair forever is NOT a good outcome.
I hope she goes easy on you as substitute gardener.

She does have a wheel chair, fold up sort that we use on ferries, but fortunately not much more often than that. she is as independent as fu ck, and i wouldn't want it any other way, although it means I have to watch out for her all the time. But thanks for the thought.

It is absolutely throwing it down here at the mo so it'll be indoor duties today!:):(

"Luckily" I am on shelf-putting-up duties, which is OK except I cannot easily find a place to use a circular saw, without making a mess inside.
So far it is fine, even though using spare sh!tboard endpanels so it matches the rest of the kitchen/utility.
Of course I am going to use batten to strengthen the shelves but am wondering what is the best way to support the ends of the supporting battens where they meet the battens on the wall, and kitchen cupboard. So far I am in favour of halving joints.
Any woodbashers with a better idea to combine aesthetics with good mechanical strength?:confused::confused::confused:
They will be taking quite a lot of weight. Boxes of beer, packs of uht milk, wine, etc etc.
 
@Shimsteriom When he starts just tell him there is a secret to this job that you will find out, and then get out as soon as you can before he finds out and quits:)

Just done a beer run to the shop on the quad:) so much fun not having to stick to the road:D nearly lost a bottle out of the cardboard box strapped to the rack on the way home:eek:
Still hot and sunny here:) not rubbing it in;)

I think once he gets a better understanding of the job, the people he has to deal with and the things he will be expected to do that he won't be here long, I don't think he needs any assistance from me. :D

Have to agree that we rarely find the time to lay out in it. We usually just use the pool late afternoon. and miraculously we don't seem to need suncream either.
I have somehow managed to get my skin used to it, wifey has always tanned v easily but me never, as a kid always used to burn. But since discovering Clinique cream, never looked back.
And since coming over here for longer, skin is now used to the sun. Never thought I would see the day!

Yer cant tell him the job is bad unless it puts his safety at risk. It would be unfair ter slag oft the job he is looking forward to doing. He's starting a new role he's chosen for whatever reason. Eye can understand yer feeling terwards the job but yer best ter stay out of it. It will be seen as sour grapes if yer get involved or tell him stuff yer not happy about.
