Not for sale but how do you value your motor 1986 ex army galvanised chassis 300tdi rebuilt and 1st registered in 2003. I paid £4500 in 2010 turbo sucked into engine so nearly £5000 later turner full engine uprated intercooler radiator hoses, new turbo, is it now worth £4500 or £9500? how would you price it for insurance, this is not for sale so don't offer to buy

All you did was replace worn out parts. Might get a few more quid. Do you get more for replace shocks,brakes on a car .............. no they wear out just like a motor

If you paid £4500 for it insurance will probably value it a £3000 at most and if it gets nicked will pay out £1500-£2000 if you're very, very lucky.
They wont take into account the engine rebuild.
