The 80 inch now has its wiring all done for the ignition and starter. Starter motor Fubar!!! Doh!! So on the hunt for a cheap v8 starter or ifits not too cold might take it out in a mo and give it a strip and clean. Not sure I'm going to make tomorrow but Would like to get to Weston Underwood

Just tried adjusting my 110 handbrake. What a pain. Thought I would take a look under stutabs Disco first to check access to the adjuster, simple

Then I looked under the blasted 110. What is all that crap LR have bolted on. There's a great big dampening counter weight and an under gearbox body plate. You can barely get a 21mm socket and wrench in there!

ARGH

Cheers Stu gonna get brave in a mo and go out and undo it!

Killajoules it's a ways off still, Andrew F will take it to weld rear spring hangers on and chrckmthencage welding is all A ok for comp safari. The wiring is all up to MSA spec for comp with brakes and running lights etc. when I get it back I need to hit the bodywork hard and get it all bolted back together. Try and get to whaddon for a play maybe Roundhill for a play day so I know its semi reliable. Then the nice bits need to be made like new doors with decent latches so you can get in and out double quick.

Loads to do but slowly getting there!

NRC4306 blue white 133 lbs inch and 17 inches tall free height

think that is correct for a tray back rear spring set up ?

As it has same weight at the front still , im guessing it should stay about 175 llbs an inch

Yea id go with soft if its a toy if you have a winch on the front and a tdi then the red whites aren't too bad!

Ah which clever cloggs went and lost his 8mm hex Allen headed socket to Milehams omorrow then! Bit late to be making one in the shed!

Evening all

Took a little run out over the Essex border today and did a handful of lanes, Only managed to rip the CB aerial off, so not too bad going, did think it was game over a couple of times as there were one or 2 big holes that were full of water. Started running outta light so decided to call it a day. All in all was a good day. Only one or 2 lanes on route closed or reclassified.

Will post a couple of pictures later.

I've been laning on my own and learnt my lesson before, so im a lot more cautious, plus I was in an area that I've got a couple of mates who couldn't come out for the day, but had I have needed it would have came to the rescue. They knew the route I was on and kept in touch.

I started in Royston and worked my way across to Dunmow. I ended up calling it quits as light was fading and the lanes were getting gradually worse, at one point the was a horrid hole that was deep enoughtonput water over the bonnet. I skipped past the lane at Widdington that myself, Jai and a few others did a 16hr recovery on. Did take a look at it though, walked it first and it hasn't changed one bit!! Was bad enough trying to walk it.
All in all not too bad an afternoon out. Do need to look at my diff lock, seems to be reluctant to come out once it's been in for a while.
