Indeed we do, I need a couple of months notice to get the bloody time off! Not a chance in Jan or Feb.

Any suggestions on where to head to next time?

I'm thinking Wales somwhere (need to buy a decent winter rated sleeping bag first) be nice to do somthing when there is snow on the ground. After Wales and our landys have been proven to work no issues then France me thinks just an idea what does everyone else think?

Yep the proppa sleeping bags are a must, to be fair I took a little strain last weekend in Wales with my 2 season bag. The guys are recommending the We have British Army Sleep System, military sleep system, army sleeping bag at Surplus and Adventure secure online Army and Navy superstore

And for the future France is good, also fancy Scotland, maybe the Shetland Islands...

Wales sounds awesome but its gonna have to be in november sometime for me cause I can't get holiday in december. Should be cold enough :D:D In the future Scotland sounds great but I thought they had no greenlanes? I might be wrong. Shetlands nice and remote but itl add a few to your mileage! Hopefully I might actually be able to make this pub meet hah

Well before i go anywhere i need to replace my clutch slave cylinder, Worked out what the oily stuff was dripping from underneath at maccy d's when we met the other day. Shetlands could be an interesting run.

Jaaaarrrrrrrrr, it is true there are no lanes in Scotland :D However some of the sealed roads in the highlands are more spectacular scenery wise than pretty much anything else in the UK. They also have a large spattering of pay and play sites, some of them open 7 days a week.

I think there was an LRO article about a dude who went to the Shetlands in his LR, seems worth the milage ;)

Well if we can make it happen it will be great.. Someone I know recently went to live up in Shetlands. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't jealous! I think you drive to Aberdeen and catch a ferry from there to Lerwick. What time of year do you think would be best?

Got some family friends up in Inverness Landy Mad! been family friends since I was a wee lad from the local offroad group round this way circa 1987/88 would be nice to pop in and say hi

I really like the wales idea! So many lanes such little time!

Thanks to spitfiremk1 for dropping the tax disc in... been meaning to collect it but you know howit goes!

You can borrow mine, I've got a McKinley 4-seasons bag rated to -26c.

Used it for the first time sleeping onboard a ship moored in Docklands when I did my sailing qually. Almost died in it, went to bed a bit worse for wear after being in the bar, woke up at 4am on fire, it's so bloody hot. No good for indoor use at all.
