Mine needs a new timing cover gasket at the moment, but over the last year I have pretty much taken the whole engine thing to bits in various desparate actions to get it running sweet as. I succeeded too which is always a bonus.

One of the trail riders Ryder mentioned, you folks seem to get out and dirty lots, and I'm always looking for other people to play in the mud with.

Kev your clued up on V8's, this friend of mine has got a V8 EFI with gas conversion and it wont tick over when it's up to running temperature on petrol or gas. fine when it's cold.

for anyone that cant make billing (like me) i have a date for you diaries, 12th, 13th, 14th september,LRO show (As in the magazine) peterborough show ground (up the a1) im going up for all 3 days camping, anyone who wants to join me, should be the 2nd best show of the year!!

this flippin thread flys, one minute in the 40's now 60's of pages???

hey mudwiz. 1st lane tomorrow can get muddy especially after some wet stuff. second and third lanes are simply local fun and after that we'll check out the maps depending on how late it is.

In the absence of any other symptoms I would start with the temp sensors. The one that plays up is the one that is a pain to get at. It is correctly called the coolant temperature thermistor.

Part of the problem here is also that there is a common connection between the coolant temp thermistor, fuel temp thermistor throttle potentiometer and air flow meter - fun ain't it!!

However, it is possible to "trick" the ECU on the coolant sensor but I would need to revisit the pile of bits of paper with test procedures on it.

The other part of this problem could be an issue with the ecu. If it is a 14CUX and a hot wire system I can do an ecu for testing as well as an airflow meter.

If I have any other thoughts I will let you know.

if people book through a lro subscriber (me) its only £11 day entry or i think about £70 for entry all 3 days (friday is campers only) sat, sun, 2 goes on the off rd course (normally £20 each) and camping for fri and sat night.......

and dont know about tomorrow yet, send me the PM n i'll let u know tomorrow, dnt finish work till 7 so we'll see,

gotta shoot, up at 5.30 for work!!

I could do with a hand to fit some jate rings to the front and rear of my disco... preferably before billing at the weekend. I'll be buying them tomorrow so if anyone has some time between now and sunday I'd really appreciate it. Cheers folks
