Cool Vids,

I've spent this evening dismantling Axles and hubs I think I've almost sussed the Disk braked rear salisbury just requires a few bits and bobs. Anyone got any 110 Rear calipers lying about? As they seem to be as popular as Rocking horse Poo. Calipers and brackets and I think and we are on a Roll. P.S I managed to get another 2 brand spanking 900x16 tyres on ebay for £92 ao all I need now is another one and I will have a complete spare set! Woo!

If anyone needs any hubs Diffs etc Let me know I now have masses to get rid of at reasonable prices. Jai

Blimey Phil.... what the hell will the ramblers think when they see that bastard coming over the hill?

Jai, you seem to be making real headway pretty quickly good stuff. Still working out the details of how to move the rolling chassis for the 101. I will probably get them to deliver, its only a hundred quid and that is cheaper than hiring a trailer and spending the fuel. The chassis apparently has some extra strength attached. Allegedly organised and carried out by Solihul before being delivered to the military. Looking forward to seeing her and getting stuck in... roll on the school holidays!

101? 109 I hope, Yea Military Chassis had some strengthening plates I think. Needs to be either, grit blasted £100 or spend a week with wire brushes and red oxide and chassis black. Leave it on the axles till you have wire brushed all you can get to then take the axles off, get out the old bushes, wire brush the rest paint, then re bush and the refurb of the axles can begin. Suggest you leave the rear salisbury internals alone until its back on the road to listen for noise. All you can check really is for any roughness. A salisbruy axle isn't quick strip and rebuild like a Rover axle everything is preloaded with regard to the axle casing so its a pain but can be done but best left until you need to do it.

There was a guy on another forum that has completed a Salisbury drum braked axle to disk brakes although I have to say that having a look today I am going to do things slightly differently to his. He used the wrong spacers (two types groved and flat as per the lock tab washers and stub axles) He used the grooved spacer ring on a flat stubaxle and ground the inside to go allow it to go furthur down the stub axle where it gets larger in diameter. Although it cannot spin its not a great fit but I guess It works for him. I will use the original 110 outter hub seal spacer and reduce its thickness to that similar to the RR one to compensate for the wider bearing spacing in the RR hubs compared to the 110 original hubs. Well thats the plan anyway! Jai

Hi all,
Hope your all well... I gave the Disco a little service today, engine oil/filters, new air filter and fuel filter. What a :censored: it was to get the oil filter off - Access is REALLY CRAP, bullcrap the person who serviced it put it back on hand tight. It took bloody ages and nearly had to take the turbo off to get the access to get some leverage, as By the time I eventually got it off it was totally disformed due to trying to wrench it off...

Ahh..I need a beer :beer2:

I was thinking of a few locals, including Harlington. Any takers?

I would love to but I can't Tomorrow I spent hours washing and polishing last Sundays ****e off the beast on Thursday. She looks like new - I Can't take her laning until at least next Sunday :p

Its just fine deep ruts caused by years and years of one farmer using it constantly. if you stay outy the ruts its an easy drive fall into the deep ruts and you could be there somtime. Jai

So no-one else up for a small challenge tomorrow?

I would join you but after doing few lanes today with brett and max i gotta do some sort of bodge job on the sun roof tomorrow well the whole where the sun roof was

Was just diving on the road when all of a sudden the sun roof imploded showering me with glass (and yes i did sh!t myself)

Did it look anything like this one?

It's the one in the disco i'm stripping.

ryder when do you get your shiny 109 chassis. You got a good platform to work with and it will save alot of hassel.

After sleeping in the 90 last Friday morning ive decided that it needs some sort of racking for tools, Spare parts and a fold bed or somthing. Jai
