I'm going to Billing, but I'm commuting, too many tea leafs about, plus it's close enough and I like my own bed.
The mud hole is calling me. They said that Series Landys couldn't do it because they'd get stuck last year, just had to prove them wrong.

we're only going for saturday, got some other things planned for the friday/sunday. so saturday all day.

yes mate, overtime worked hard so i can spoil myself,
top of the list, winch bumper and winch rope (wire on mine is knackered)
then a 2" lift
some diff guards.
a dog guard so i can mount me fire extinguisher and maglite on it.
and some of them new hi-lift mounting brackets that clamp round anything tubular! so me hi lift can go up high n outa the way!
we're going accross in db's disco for the off road course.

another reason not for staying was all the theft and crap last yr. but looking into everything, LRO apparently have always supplied better security than LRM so, i think LRO should be given a chance to show us what they can do!
at the moment, its got loads more trade stands than Newark, so should be a good show me thinks :) will meet in the middle for a pint with anyone who fancies!

Picture was at Whaddon. There was a range Rover stuck there for over an hour before I had a go. I wasn't stuck.

I drove the Mud Hole last year, no problem apart from my engine dying on the way home, it was just before the new one went in. They'll be no stopping me this year.
I'm going to Peterborough show too. It was great last year, the autojumble was superb.

yea i'll be at peterborough again! was a good show last yr! i hope billings a good one! it better be! i gots shopping to do, and taking the landrover shopping guru (DB) with me, its bound to be an expensive day, what with the amount of food he eats! ;-)

i presume ur up there saturday brett?

Dan

That's quite a list there! I have to decide between a diff lock, a snorkel or a engine remap.

i've always been taught to repair what needs repairing before adding a new thing to repair!
e.g, if you feel a rumble in a bearing, dont wait till it gives way, crack on and repair it. i learnt that the hard way by flying from my side o the rd, to tother when my bearing collapsed!

Dan

At the moment I am not aware of anything that needs repairing and its not often I have any spare money to treat myself (and the Disco)

Quite a tough decision, Diff Lock is worth it with the amount of Laning that you do, so you don't have to rely on TC all of the time. Better to avoid spinning up the wheels. Wasn't a good decision of LR to remove it, at least they put it back on later models and it's just a case of buying the kit to re-instate it, as the works are still in the gearbox.

Snorkel can save your engine if you go wading, don't forget to get the raised axlw and gearbox breathers too.

Engine remap will transform the performance of a TD5, but only really in combination with a bigger intercooler too. Will make it go like a V8.

Save up and do all 3

Save up and do all 3

Hopefully one day I'll get all three done. I think it is between the snorkel and the diff lock and at the moment the lock is winning.

I think I would use the combination of a centre diff lock and traction control more than I would a snorkel (with extended breathers)

Mind almost made up! :D

i'd say diff lock if your not doing the deep stuff. be much more usefull for u at the moment if its mainly lanes your sticking too and not wading loads!
i fancy an engine re map with an intercooler! maybe saving up time!

If you fit a diff lock to a D2, does it just overide the TC whilst it's locked...and disable the TC?

Unless your doing hardcore off-roading I think you can get away with just the TC.
