Hi gents.

Please include me on any pm for sunday. I'd like to get out but can't say for definite, as i am 'out' this evening, so dont wait specifically for me at your meeting place.

Ta,

Happy Birthday Mate!

I've just been out for the past hour or so trying to Sort out my Towbar and raise the whole damn thing for tomorrow 'coz it's so ridicuously low.
With no Joy...damn those bolts were ****s... Needa beer Now. :D

i have been out just been with a few ppl from northants nice guys up there, joined thier response team. I cant afford to go to a P&P site and **** my truck so i havent been to whaddon or owt just some lanes and sorting my truck put CB in it new stereo speakers and fixing the rear door that stopped opening just got my tree sliders to add and my snorkel and im done

So who is out tomorrow then?

I won't be making it I have some bits to do. Hope the new guys have a blast and I want lots of Pics!! Jai

I'm sure you will be fine. Anything you are not so sure of just say to one of the guys they can either put you at ease or get meet up after that lane I think its an easy one anyway cos nobody wants to break their mota. I think next weekend or mabe the week after will be a bit more tough going hopefully I'll be up and running better than ever for that one Jai

Don't worry about the tow bar. Think of it as a rear recovery point, or a tank guard, or a reversing sensor.

You'll have fun, my Disco is standard too except A/Ts and a steering guard.

Lol,

No don't worry, Most of our greenlaning there is no need for mods. We are not out to destroy our vehicles and having a non standard vehicle is no cause for concern it may surprise you just how well a standard vehicle can cope with different terrain. The main thing will be tyres road tyres somtimes can cause more damage to the country side as they tend to spin rarther than grip when you need them to.

But please don't worry tho you will be fine.

If you have any concerns about driving a lane or part of a lane just shout stop flash your lights whatever you choose let the person in front know and they will stop to help. As a group we tend to put a capable vehicle in front of the group and another known capable vehicle directly in front of noobies just in case they get in trouble.

If there is a lane that is quite tight make a note of it and we can return to clear or make good any obstructions. If its too tight and you don't want to drive it you can turn around in a safe place. Although the guys tomorrow will know the local lanes quite well and know how long and how tight they are.

Herts laners pretty much all of us regulars have a policy or an unwritten rule which I believe most greenlaners have. We never leave anyone behind. Somone will always be able to help and even if a vehicle is for what ever reason disabled broken down or whatever we will always do our best to get the passengers and driver to a safe place if not home.

Its not until we start getting to specific known lanes that are prone to be a bit harder to complete we get really paranoid about what vehicles we go with.

Just turn up, have a chat to the guys and have fun! its all about Fun!

Jai

Jai's right,

there is no need to worry about the morrow, it is just a gentle little day out. My vehicle is probably less capable in mud than any of yours and I will be on road tyres too so we won't be doing anything scary.

Lets remember that these laning days out are not an opportunity to challenge you or your vehicle - that would be a job for pay and play - this is just an alternative to a country walk! Of course it could be a little more interesting ;)

I am going to PM the meeting point to you now. I'll include my mobile number on it as well.

Oh and don't for get the clocks go forward tonight!

Cheers for the re-assurance jai!

Chris got you PM...don't worry I hadnt forgotten about the clocks :biggrin1:

You guys do al have rear and forward recovery points fitted right? If not let me know so I can bring a spare jate ring and a couple of spanners
