Hertfordshire Lanes?????

Anyone know what they are actually doing to the lanes at the back of dunstable? Seems like everything is being resurfaced or turned into tarmac from the downs, across the bottom of eaton bray, across tottenhoe and towards leighton. A bloody great scar on the landscape is what it is... and they say a couple of land rovers spoil the view!

I think it's a new footpath/cycle route got something to do with all that access to the countryside stuff and the national cycle way thingy or something I think?

Mine is only an old disco1 V8.... non modded except for tyres and Jate rings, (hardly earth shattering!) I too am still trying to find its limits, though it does seem to be able to cope with most things. The only thing I havent been able to do is tackle obstructions with gusto, since wife has been heavily pregnant and a passenger most of the time.

No reason why you can't come out, like Spyderman said, Ashwell is only 1 lane, there are plenty others to occupy us for a day out. You'll be fine, if you're not sure if you could get through, get behind me or Ryder - if we get stuck chances are you will too unless your motor is modified.

BTW which end of town are you?
 
Mr V come along you will enjoy it! If we get enough motors it would be nice to have 2 groups dont fancy having any more than 5 per group otherwise you could spend all day at one point. mabe meet up for food/drink in a pub exchanging info and then going off again with reccomendations of which lanes plus its nice to keep the groups to a min less hassel more responsible etc wd should all carry lane forms so wd can keep record any that need clearing and in back and have another day of fun clearing up.

As with all our outings its all about responsible fun anything deemed to bad or anything likely to damage you vehicle just dont do it no shame it keeping a tidy motor Jai
 
Ah i remember still a rangie v8 or not wouldnt have stood a chance last time ryder was stuck taller tyres and a winch. 33/34 inch (235 85R 16) tyres can only help so much
 
I plan to wear out my bronco's before thinking about buying new tyres pointless buying anything at the mo due to the credit crunch its a fact that alot of us wont be doing this in a year or so despite how much we hate to think so.

On a lighter note trying to get something organised that could raise our profile as respectable green laners. Most of us keep to the majority of glass' reccomended regs and lane boundaries so if we could do something to promote up doing this seems worthwhile watch this space Jai
