The 3+ is good but personally I would go with the 3. The battery life is marginally better on the plus but not really so you would notice. The big thing with the plus is that it shoots 4k. 4k is redundant atm unless shooting for movies. The processing power required to edit at 4k is ridiculous. Also the sheer amount of space the data takes up is mental too.

That's helpful think I be getting another 3 black then

Now the 3+ is out should push down the price of the 3s. Would be tempted by a second one if I wasn't forking out for this new engine.

Yeah I don't think 4k is far off though. But as you say it editing it that will be the problem. I normally film at 1080 50fps but my mate who edits it complains it's to slow to work with if not 24fps.

I've got a few cheapo Chinese batteries that last as good, so I just swop out when they're empty. Thus battery life isnt really a problem. besides the weight and space when hiking.

TVA are around already that are 4k capable, at the moment there aren't any peripherals capable of 4k. Bluray doesn't make full use of it yet, it is used in IMAX cinema but at the moment for the most part it is caled down to something more usable dependent on the use of the footage and edited at a lower quality. 50 GPS is great if you want to do some slomo stuff :)

That's exactly my thinking. I'm off to the states next week with work so I will be making full use of the exchange rate :)

If we get stuck we might have to call on the range rover..

I'm touch and go for tomorrow, usual medical issues, I'll decide in the morning, but last couple of days I've been a bit rough.

Im going to have t cry off. I have just spent 3 days in the garage reassembling the rear hubs, brakes and various other bits. Just finished all the jobs, fitted CB and thought I would go to the garage to fill up tonight and as I reversed of the drive something is binding- I am hoping I have reassembled the rear brakes wrong- shouldn't be a bearing as I have put new ones on.

It should not take to long to sort in the morning, but I would have to be on the road by 8 and there is no chance I can get it sorted by then.

I wll hopefully be out and about on the next trip.
