I have reached a milestone in the project, I have only got to put it back together now, no more stripping or welding (apart from the bumper and sliders) Hopefully be on the road next spring (2014) which was the original plan.

Jai, according to the ALRC website there is a tyro on the 28th at roundhill. If I was interested in doing that, do I have to enter in advance, or can I just turn up on the day?

Should be ok to join on the day I think. Ill double check that tho! Tyro is very family friendly and we try to make it easy to get started as its a way in for long term Membership for the club and enjoyment for members.
Must say now there are other benefits to being a club member apart from a usual discount on your car insurance you get the alrc book of regs and general info, your welcome to play with other alrc member clubs, the nationals (always good fun) there are drive round events organised and fun events when possible there was some talk about milbrook testing ground. Anglian club are a great bunch!
Other clubs ALRC and non ALRC run more events a month but none really cater for CCV Tyro 14 years and above and JTV youngsters I think 10 and above driving a mini tractor doing trialling. JTV is Probably the most fiercly contended competition moreso between the adults of the children taking part whereas the kids just enjoy taking part.

Hi jai, do you still want the rangy rostyles? The chassis is going to the scrappers tomorrow
I had to change the UJ's. I was using a vice to push the cups / shells? in- I used a nut on each end to ensure that I pushed the cup below the surface of the propshaft forks / u section. No matter how hard I cranked the vice I could not get the cup in far enough to get clips on both sides.
I decided to buy some more UJ's and get my brothers mate who has a hydraulic press to do it (properly) when I picked the propshaft up he was f'ing and blinding and said he had spent hours on it and could not get the clips on. He said he measured it and on each end of the prop it looks like the fork / U bit has been compressed/ deformed by a HUGE press or something because you can see that the sides of the U bit is not parllell and is pointing inwards.
Would no clips on a UJ be an MOT fail as I am getting close to having it on the road. (the cups were so hard to get in, I cannot see them falling out
)

Right. is you propshaft a britpart one?? with a light blue main splines??
If so you may have the wrong UJ's you need the later narrow type i think its something like 75mm and 82mm across but don't quote me on that.

The cups will fall out. it will rip apart although an MOT man may not find it if it gets that far its mega dangerous.
I may have a propshaft or a new narrow UJ you can use and replace. Not had time to shoot to the garage yet but should get there tomorrow after work. I'm sure you have the wrong UJ's Spyderman had the same issue last week. Series use the wider UJ's but Britpart props (horrible things they is) use the later narrow ones as fitted to defenders RRC etc
