if your looking 4 green lanes in herts , beds ,area have a look on Beds Herts & Cambs Land Rover Club they do a few. i'm doing my first one on mar 25th herts / essex area
. Found a nice long one that went across an old abandoned railway line but when we got there it was fenced off .
The lane in fernaux pelham is called Violets lane. It's actually a river bed but blinding for a bit of laning. If you leave Hitchin on the B655?? The road to barton and take the left into carters lane (wibbly wobbly lane) go to the bottom and straight ahead of you (over the A505) is the entrance to a lane about half mile up the lane you reach a cross roads all 3 lanes are good fun but can't rmember where any take you out to.
Probably go back to Whaddon next. Devils Pit, although on my doorstep, at the moment it's too wet to get around properly and the clean up job after is horrendous. Whaddon is just plain mud rather than the concrete at the pit.
Lanes: I want to do the one's up around Hitchin, done a couple of them but the other one's looked too scary to do on my own. Doable I think, but I would want someone else along in case I got stuck.
Any ideas Tiki?
how could i find these lanes near hitchin?
I've done the left fork, but can't remember where it comes out. Straight ahead isn't a byway I think.
Anybody up for a bit of laning on Sunday 8th. Thinking of maybe Grafham Water or Hatfield across to Broxbourne.
Isn't Grafham closed?
