Beer is ok, as you can drink a goodly amount before having to hold on to the floor.

And the chassis isn't too bad. One rot spot, but thats only on the tank mount plate. Soon replace that.

Goodish tyres, all the brakes look ok. The self leveller thing isn't leaking so a good spare.
Anybody want a crude oil burner fuel tank?

And I'll get the poly's down to you when I have them off the chassis

I aint got no bump stops for the back axel so if there are any going that would be great:D is that "self leveller thing" that giant shock absorber thing from tha back axel to all those links?- wondered what that was!

Went to fit my new engine management coolant temp sensor today and found out my old mates at paddocks have sent me the fuel temp sensor instead

I may aswell fit it as I have it, how do you depressurise the fuel rail beforehand and prevent airlocks afterwards?

Any tips , its old and plastic, I am worried about the old one breaking off in the hole when I try to remove it!

Haven't looked at the bump stops. But I'll have a gander as soon as I can.
Also found out that it has cranked trailing arms, So is going on my classic. Just hoping the radius arms are cranked aswell. Would save me a few quid.

Do ya need that? we only use them to spend money on and fix, and occasionally drive to pub before summit else breaks

I think you'll find the coolant and temp thermistors are the same, at least they are supposed to give the same resistance according to temperature and as far as I recall, the plugs are identical but obviously go to different input plugs on the ECU, so shouldn't be a problem.

Depressurising the fuel system is easy! Fire up the engine then remove the fuel pump relay and wait for it to stop. You will then have zero fuel pressure.

So they are the same sensors , just in different applications, because I now have two , so I could do them both?

I have a black plug on one and white on the other, which way round should they be? shame they arnt brown and green then I would already know lol

I'm reasonably sure the thermistors are the same, the black one is for the fuel thermistor and the white one for coolant.

Thats the the plugs that are coloured yeah?, the thermistors seem all black.

I will go and have a look in the morning when its not so dark and make sure mine are the right way round.

Got the plug leads today , made by mirrorparts or summit I can still seem arcing in the dark but it seems to a run a little better

O.K. Just checked under the bonnet on mine. Both thermistors are black. The white plug goes on the coolant thermistor and the black plug on the fuel thermistor.

If you've put new leads on don't know why there should be any arcing. Have you made sure the leads are properly routed and clipped and that they are comletely dry? Have you made sure all your earth points are clean? Apart from that, I can't offer any other thoughts.

Thanks Kev , yeah I have done the leads to kingdome come and I cant see whay there would be arcing, unless you can see the electricity through the insulation in the dark?

Thanks for the info re plugs , I will check tomorrow.

What is the other bigger sensor on the thermostat housing with the two green wires going to it on spade connectors?

Ah Ha! , explains alot!!!
Thanks matey!

Is that Ah Ha! good or Ah Ha bad?

Last time my A/C fans kicked in without the A/C on was up in the Peak District on a hot day on a long climb. The problem is whether you keep driving and see if the temp comes down or if you stop let the fans kill the battery while the engine cools down. I did the latter but luckily I was in a group so just used jump cables to start it.

Good really , answers a few things. Like last summer they came on when it wasnt even running but the temp guage has never under any circumstaces gone above its normal running point, I guess it just crossed that point when the engine and therfore the vicous fan were switched off. Also good as I didnt want to have to change that sensor as I fear I would snap off my thermostat housing in the process  lol
