How do you know that? Have you put a meter on it?Yep! but just bought the car recently and it was on the "manana" list. Car battery good and charged
If you change the BECM, it will need diagnostics to sync it to the engine ECU and to check that it is set for the correct engine type.Ive given up for today. Taken the battery out to top it up overnight...
Just had an offer of a BeCm and ECU with codes keys and lock set for 200E...
If I buy the lot and change everything will it start without being hooked up?
I was just about to set off across Europe again so Im glad it happend here....Off for a swim to cool off! Thanks for all the help so far everyone.

In the mean time, for EKA instructions, you're doing the four turns to lock position before you enter the code?
Whether the code you have is right or wrong, you are going to need diagnostics if you change the BECM and no guarantee you will be any further forward.I am but Im sure the code I was given online isnt right...car has had a BeCM change as far as I can work out..
Just pulled my old Pajero out of the bushes where it has been for months. Battery on ...turn they key and off it went! Great old car but it isnt a RR.

You will be entering a world of pain, better sort what you have got, you could buy a Nanocom Diagnostic tool for not a lot more than you are talking about for another BECM.
Feck me, you do not listen do you YOU WILL HAVE TO HAVE DIAGNOSTICS TO SYNC A REPLACEMENT BECM TO THE ENGINE ECUAll the parts will come from one running car (exactly the same year and model as mine) so will it still need to be sync´d ?
I dont have a lot of time to spend on the car and need the quickest way out or it will be parked and left and I will have to do my trip in a Pajero ;-(

Diagnostics would most likely sort your problem.
Stick to your Pajero, as you say, it's not a Range Rover, for a start it works wheras RR's often don't.
Not probably right.Lol! probably right!
The thing is, there isnt anything wrong with the car....it just wants me to push a button on the remote and it will start. Its the remote which is broken. I can get a new key here and have it programmed but it will take 10 days to get it here and thats 10 days i dont have ;-(
