Just a thought... maybe you should invest in some good break down cover - not trying to jump to huge conclusions here, but, if you own more than one property that puts you in a group of people who shouldn't be massively short of money, break down cover is dirt cheap... just make the investment!

No, it sounds to me like the kind of thing you should only do when in a financially stable position to be able to afford to do it...

I run 4 cars though - i imagine that's fairly similar

Prop UJ's fail on the P38 due to lack of regular greasing. Just dealt with another one with a broken front UJ on the front prop, it was so bad that a new prop was required. About £91 plus VAT from Island 4 x 4.
