anyway once you fix it tha something you wont have to do again for years by the way mine just sailed through the mot yesterday enjoy

Look like my problem is front pads and discs as the offiside is grinding and whining so i assume that would be enough to throw up the abs and traction fault lights?! Booked in to be fixed on Monday and LPG conversion on Wednesday so it will hardly be here next week.

The mechanic who will fix the brakes, can't reset with faultmate which i assume will need doing will it? or will the lights go out once fixed?

And I'm just downloading that RAVE file now (for the next couple of hours). Thanks

If pads are that low, TC and ABS should clear......if you're lucky!

Or a wheel bearing collapsed?

Could be pistons seized in caliper causing pads to drag and oveheat. Fault should go in that case one it has cooled down.

hi goodfella , good to see you get home apart from the brakes that is . do you know if its been stood for a while cos as datatech says possibly the calipers seizing up but a good strip down and cleaning of both sides should clear that fault up . where are u getting your lpg conversion done and how much ??? hope everything else works out ok . p.s. theres a place at stockport wich has the faultmate gear if any help let me know cheers for now mozz

Thanks for the suggestions everyone. It has been stood around six weeks yesterday (battery is fine though), so maybe its just a cheap combination of pads and seizing etc.


LPG conversion being done at Worsley Autogas, they are my nearest approved installer. Met the guy there today and he explained what it involves. £1920 all in for a BRC Multipoint system with a 92ltr doughnut tank in the wheel well.

Is there anything i should ask the mechanic to change on on the engine while he does the conversion, things that might need doing in future that would incur additional labour if done separately?

And the prize for the correct remote diagnosis goes to Pete the Biker who rightly said the wheel bearing has collapsed! :clap2:

Should get the car back tomorrow, not sure what the repair is costing yet as the part is coming from LR. Luckily it seems to have not caused any further damage...can't wait to get the car back!

Yoinks ! Hope he's getting just the bearings and not the hub assy that Landrover will insit on you buying.

Thanks Goodfella - it's always good to know what these problems turn out to be caused by. Let's hope this isn't too expensive to sort, and that your ownership is less troublesome from here on!
