Heavy Clutch peddle

Has it gone heavier or is it the same as it's always been.
ls the Land Rover new to you? The clutch is heavy on Defenders, but it can be made lighter.

But if it's gone heavy there could be a fault with it. The clutch does get heavier towards the end of its life, if your Land Rover has done over 100,000 miles it's possibly time for a new clutch

I have an excessively heavy clutch peddle is there anything i can do to make it lighter?

Yes, there is. :)

First check, as above, that the current bits are up to snuff:- pedal pivot can seize progressively, and the hydraulics age and can cause issues - what is the fluid like ? black tend to mean system needs some attention either due failing or failed seals, or lack of maintenance....

Clutch pivot is a known weakness - as above. Old fork = harder to disengage clutch. Clutch itself can also be on its way out...

Pedal springs can be changed with significant decrease in effort.

Ultimate solution is to fit a remote servo - can disengage clutch with one finger then ( but driving gets interesting with your hands "down there" ;) )... I did a thread on it - search on here will find it...:)

Thnks for the advice im going to do your suggestions probably wont use my fingers

On the TD5 the clutch is heavy it is noted for it. Changing the clutch is unlikely to change that. In your position my first task would be to get someone to compare your setup.
