I got back in the trooper outside halfuds today and it started straight away as usual , looked across the car park and saw a p38 plus owner trying to lock/unlock his car , lights flashing on and off key in the door turning it pressing buttons lol

He was still there when I left 10 mins later.

My Keyfob UNLOCK button is tempermental....LOCK works fine, but at times I have to stand there looking like a lemon pressing the button and until the LED flashes and the vehicle unlocks, often times If i press the LOCK button then the UNLOCK button again, it unlocks....

Two parter:
1.) What could be the issue with the UNLOCK button??
2.) If I decide to continue locking and unlocking the vehicle using the door lock, what, if any, issues can this cause?? i.e. Lock failure, Microswitch burn out etc etc

You know exactly the same thing happens with mine but the other way around, locking is the problem

Hope it wasn't raining, standing around for 10 minutes with a classic in the rain and you'll lose about 2kg worth of Range Rover in rust! :D

I was in my completly rust free trooper as in the OP

My classic is also rust free now but I did have to replace about 20kg of steel :D

yes and it works every day without having to spend every weekend under it so its a good trade off! oh and it lets me get in in car parks too :D

Although I've only driven only 10,000 miles so far my P38 hasn't missed a beat yet (that's done it!) my classic (3.9 Vogue EFi) always had niggly problems even though it was under two years old when I bought it.

I did that wife swapping lark a few years ago, never again, I woke up with a saw arse but he girls in the other bedroom loved it
