so, me and the mrs needed to pop over our woods to check if any trees had come down in those winds earlier in the week, the private road in and out gets a little muddy, so thought I'd film it, and put up a post, rather than the normal "my freelanders broke" type posts

It's not a Gaylander!! It's bad enough the tratter owners calling them that without the Freelander owners doing it too!!
I'm so glad I drive a V6, I couldn't be doing with that diesel clattering all the time.
Nice video though except for the title ;)

see and there was me thinking members would like the video, rather than another "why's my car making this noise" post:D

as for the speed, in all honesty I never know whether I should go slower or faster in mud???:confused:

Im back over there on saturday, perhaps I'll try slower;)
 
It's your lane, you know it a lot better than we do :)
It looks like a fairly tame lane by all accounts.
To be honest it didn't look that muddy either , just a few puddles here and there.
Maybe I have a gung ho! attitude but your speed didn't seem excessive to me :)

Don't get me wrong here. I love to see videos of our wonderful Freelanders mud plugging. Personally I tend to err on the side of slow, but I wasn't there and the camera angle has a lot to do with it. We all drive at whatever speed is comfortable for us.
 
I suppose, in all honesty, I have no idea what a freelander is capable off, my 4x4 is a suzuki vitara, that did get stuck on a path similar to that, makes me worry sometimes on how far you can go with a freelander, maybe I need to go on some proper school type classes

The Freelander is surprisingly good. Just don't expect the TC to overcome come all obstacles. A few muddy puddles it easy overcome, even on road tyres ;)
