Doors fallin oft is a myth.

Definitely! Mind you, the driver door on my Freelander does creak "generously" on acceleration and decelleration. Doesn't do it when its open though, so this is a working fix up to about 60mph :)

As for the video, luvly video and enjoyed watching it, but I've been down worse tracks in our "trusty" Starlet. I say "trusty" because its as old as the hills, done huge millage, we've had it 10 years and can trust it to work when the LRs are f**ked :)

People need to put more effort into making Freelander videos if they want the "useless offroad" image to be dispelled.
Pretty much every Freelander clip on youtube is the same kind of thing.....either a Freelander plodding along a muddy lane, or a Freelander edging really slowly down a steep bank, being held on the brakes and moving a couple of inches at a time.

Exciting viewing or showcasing the cars abilities they are most definitely not. Hippo's video above is going in the right direction though.

We need a Freelander 1 off-road day somewhere, where there are decent challenges etc.

Maybe take over a pay & play place for a day.

Any suggestions? Preferably down South somewhere I can get to :D

They look very tame even for AT's,,
I would guess just Road tyres??

Sounds sweet though,,
very well maintained except the brake lights..
3 Amigo's ???

Can anybody tell me what tyres Hippo is running? I'm very impressed with their performance.
General Grabber AT2. Not to be confused with the newer version. I took them oft as I hate the drone from them, poor steering, poor handling, the fight they put up when going through 1 inch of water at speed, reduced mpg and the increased temp on the turnip test they create. Having said that the grip was very good. Better than my current STR on snow.

Thanks. More video's to follow. Need to edit loads of them. Still filming more. ;)

Pirelli Scorpion STR I believe.
They were GG AT2. I have STR's currently. Much betterer handling and ride. Bit disappointed they int M+S winter tyres but the drone from the GG AT2 has gone so I can't complain.

The new Grabbers are MUCH improved. I went from full tread AT2 as above to the new Grabber AT (AT3 as I call them) and big improvement all round.

We'll all get confused if you rename them with a 3.

How much road noise and vibration do the newer GG AT make when compared road tyres like my STR's above? They came in after the older AT2 faced problems meeting new legislation.

True, as my next tyres will be Cooper AT3s.. ;)

Well, I had them fitted to my Deli and it went from noisy and shoddy grip to quiet and great grip in snow, winter roads, summer roads, rain and a couple of muddy tracks. Never took it mud plugging, but i have seen pics of it on Salisbury Plain after I sold it. I highly rate the tyres.
