or four small square ones along the bars and one big one pointing rearwards at the back?(legality of that?)

I was going to have the rear facing one wired in to the boot light so when you open the boot door it comes on, but also have a switch wired in so it can go on when to boot is closed to. As far as the forward facing ones go is it illegal to have them wired so when I flick the full beam switch they come on. We run a couple of transit vans from our yard and they have loads of spotlights on them that do that but they do motorway breakdowns at night so is that a kind of get out clause?

The limitations on ancillary lights, I think is laid down in the MoT test schedule (I may be wrong) But I don't believe they can be used on a moving vehicle on the highway if they are out of 'scope' for postioning.

Oh so been working on the freelander again today and I'm pleased to report she is ready to go back on the road, new IRD went in a week ago and the drive shafts have been cleaned and re greased, fitted. New lower ball joint

Tried to refit the brakes to find the caliper guide pin had seized. Joy joy joy, after a few hours soaking in WD40 I managed to free it off, gave it a good clean up,

And cleaned up the caliper bracket

Greased it back up fitted a new rubber boot, rebuilt the brakes and wa la she is off the axle stands for the first time in two months! Happy days!

As you can see the rear brakes were a but locked but soon freed off with a bit of rocking

And after ****ing around and dropping it on my head a few times managed to fit it, note to self tow bar fitting is ideally a 2 man job,

Been busy again, managed to get a cb radio from my mate who I work with, it's a midland 77-104, bit retro but it works so I'm going to fit it.

Been looking around the car and wondering where the best place to fit it is, I was thinking in the slot under the air vent would have to do some chopping to get it to sit flush, any other suggestions? ? ?

Fitted the cb radio after work, rather than clout holes in the dash I opted for it to go underneath, just need a mic mount and ariel and I'm away, wired it into the 12v cig lighter as it is never used.

The mic reaches me when I'm sat in the driver position did make sure when I put it in there and I normally have a passenger, better to have it over there I'm down to my last 3 points so another distraction is not needed!

Just an idea for ya here's a pic of my dash setup. also got a twin holder for PMR Radios behind the speakeer
