I'm in the process of replacing my FL1 Td4 2006 speedo cluster - and wonder if anyone can give me the Eeprom type, as fitted for the Mileage/Kilometer memory chip on the internal circuit-board?
The cluster model is as shown in the following photo's, which is a suitable replacement.
It'll be an eight pin chip, and I'll be reprogramming it for the correct/original mileage. so there's no cheating.
I'll give all the details of how to go about doing this if-and-when I'm successful.

Will be interested in this process when you've cracked it!! Can't help with type. I guess you've looked on the chip or the board?

Knowing the actual eeprom used won't tell you much. They are programmed to whatever requirement is needed for that individual vehicle. So if it were a 1.8, it would be programmed to illuminate a low coolant light at switch on and in the event of the coolant level sensor going to ground.
Or if it was a vehicle destined for one of a few countries where the outside temperature sensor is needed, it would be programmed to display the temperature on the LCD, above the mileage reading.

I'm not sure what you're thinking, but the Ipack is a programmable item, and is totally software driven. ;)

The thing is this, the cluster is on its way to me and I'm quite keen to get the thing reprogrammed with my original's mileage reading, as a project.
I'll only use the new cluster for travelling to & back from the UK, especially as it has MPH & KPH on display.
I'll certainly be using this as a test-bench-model, in order to see what can be done.
I will take snap-shots as well as written records of all I do, in the hope it will help others.
YouTube is loaded with lots of other makes/marques being reproagrammed, so their lies the basis of my theory. The following Links just two of many...

And if I knew which Chip type was in use I could have a new spare on hand - just in case. It's simple enough to program.

Watch this space.
